Squash, Bag Balm & Plants

I guess we are all in the same boat in the cold weather climates.  Everyone is cooking from the supplies they have stored!  I had a butternut squash in the storage room in the basement.  I wanted to see if it would store down there.  It started to get tan streaks so thought I should bake it up.  Here are four single serving sizes for me to enjoy.  I know now that if freezer space is at a premium that I will be able to store my squash down there for a few months.

Stirred up some healthy???? cookies and baked once again!

My Dad thought that Bag Balm cured everything, cows and people!  I still use it.  What do you think of it?????

Note the little white table stacked on top of the piano bench!  I don't have much room for houseplants and need to come up with something better!!

I did not miss aim the camera!  This was my grandma's piano bench and I love the feet on it!

We were suppose to babysit Cali.  Since I have bronchitis I could not go but my "wonderful gardener" said he would do it my himself!!  I fixed the tea set and cookies for him to take.  They both survived!

Hi Nancy! Hope that bronchitis gets better soon! That was sweet of your husband to babysit alone! The houseplants look so nice in front of the window! I love the feet on the piano bench. I've never hear do Bag Balm. Have you tried it for your bronchitis? I would like to find out more about it. Get well soon! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Bama Girl, I don't think Bag Balm would do anything for bronchitis! It is for cuts and good to use on your hands after working in the garden or chapped conditions. Sometimes you can find it in the nursery centers. Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Hi Debbie, That was a first for storing squash for me. Usually my freezer is too full in the fall so this will be another way to go. I can't seem to shake this bronchitis. Would like to send it on it's way!! Love my Grandma's piano bench! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Yes, I learned about bag balm from my Grandfather, probably 70 years ago! They used it for first aid, as well as for what it was made for, the cows' udders. I still keep it on hand. Literally...on my hands, LOL!

I have actually heard of bag balm and that it is wonderful! Love those claw feet on the bench and it sounds like the Gardner is a keeper, no doubt they both did well!

Bag balm was a staple in the barn all through my childhood. We used it for us too - made chapped dry hands feel much better. Haven't had any around for years though. Brings back some good memories. Hope your bronchitis is better soon.

That's the sweetest thing ever that your husband did for Valentine's! I am glad you took a picture of the table. Is bag balm good for cracked fingers? I have cracked fingers, especially in the winter. I believe it has something to do with not being in dirt. ;D Have a great day in the Lord!

Thanks Susan, I am fortunate that my husband still loves me as we grow old together! Give Bag Balm a try. Suppose to be good for chapped conditions and superficial abrasions. Glad you cold visit! Nancy

We store our squash in our insulated shop. It keeps quite well there most of the winter. I need to cook up some more.

We have a can of Bag balm. I used it on some split thumbs. It sure healed them up nicely.

Have a wonderful day. I hope you get over this soon. I am on my third week and am finally starting to feel better.

Hi Cheryl, I am excited to think I can store squash in the fall time downstairs when my freezer is full! I have been sick for three weeks too. Felt better yesterday but terrible today. Maybe overdid it. Hope you continue to get well. Thanks for visiting!!! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
