Not Much New!

Not much new here!!!  I have been wanting to try dehydrating strawberries so when I found some FL ones that were 99 cents a box I bought a box.  Sliced them and put them in the dehydrator.  They are a hit and I really like them cut up in my granola mixture!  I want to do more now.  Learning how to use my dehydrator for more things!

Since I only had the one box of strawberries to try I used the other trays for carrots for soup.

Our daughter, Sue, brought these special cupcakes over for Valentine's Day!  They were delicious!  And no calories either! LOL

Papa had a birthday!  Here are the "littles" putting candles on his cake!!  That's all the news this time!  Hopefully the weather will warm up and I will be back to gardening soon!  Stay warm!

Lovely berries. I've never dried strawberries. I ought to try this summer if I get enough. Sadly I'm fighting some disease in that bed so only the resistant variety is producing anything.

Hi lynn, I think we all are more than ready for a little nicer weather! Seems like most of the country has been in a deep freeze! Hang in there! Nancy

Hi Nancy! Those cupcakes are adorable! And kudos to you for dehydrating strawberries! The carrots will come in handy as well. Our weather has turned much cooler this week after being so warm over the weekend. So no going outside for me yet! Hope your snow melts soon! Happy birthday to the hubs! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Nancy ... good to hear from you. I have never dehydrated anything, but I can see where it could be so handy. The girls are beautiful and a belated happy birthday wish to the Mr.
Take care.

I've been wanting a dehydrator! And those delicious strawberries make me want one even more. It seems that every store bought dried fruit I see has added sugar and other stuff, so I would love to make my own. Speaking of sugar... those cupcakes look delicious!

Julie, that is what I didn't like about the dried fruit I bought plus the other stuff they put in. I hope you will be able to get a dehydrator soon! I just bought more Fl strawberries to dry today! Nancy

Mmm, strawberries are my favorite food - love 'em. I don't know that a package of strawberries would last long enough around me to be sliced, dried and stored. Well, they certainly wouldn't make it to stored - ha!

Hi Becky, That is why you have to buy three or four packages! So that some will get preserved! LOL Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
