TOO HOT!!!!

I think this says it all for this senior citizen!  I am becoming ungrateful for my produce because it is so hot that I don't want to go out to pick it!!!  Bad senior citizen!!!

Never the less we are blessed!  This basket looks like last week's picture but this week's is from my garden!!!!  Last week's was from a friend's garden!

And how about this!  A few strawberries to enjoy!

Still harvesting beans from different areas.  Coco is happy about that.  One of her favorite veggies!  Gotta grow a garden for my dog!

Pulled out the other box of carrots on the deck.  Another of Coco's
favorite veggies!  I don't do so well growing carrots.  Thinking about using that space for something else!

My dwarf peach tree has peach rot and something else this year.  So I was happy to find a couple that were delicious.  Hoping for a couple more!  We will have to do a better job of spraying copper fungicide and horticultural oil.  Just learning how to care for our trees!

It rained a lot of the day on Saturday so I took that opportunity to make up a few note cards.

A closer view of three of them.  It says "a little note on the bottom".

Two more!

And two more!  The end!  Have a good week!

Too hot....you said it!! I have so much to do outside but each time I'm out there for more than a few minutes, I start melting ;)

Wonderful harvests - veg from our own backyard tastes all the better because we grew it ourselves, doesn't it? And very nice note cards!

Hi Margaret, Thank you! Yes, back yard veggies are best. There is so much to do outside but I just don't like being out in the hot weather! Hope it cools down for both of us a little. Nancy

Lovely veggies. And those strawberries look so good. I'm always out early in the morning so I can beat the heat. I can't wait for the weather to cool down a bit.

Hi Daphne, Thanks! I am not an early morning person so it is hard to get out early enough!! Hopefully it will cool down just a little soon! Nancy

I am amazed at the vegetables you grow. I've never grown a carrot...they won't grow for me. :) Your cards are very pretty. Do you sell them? You're right! It is way too hot there. It has cooled off here a bit and was actually pleasant today with a cool breeze...thankfully!

I like the notecards you made. Making them in the nice cool house is better than getting overheated outside. Our weather has changed so suddenly. We went from hot and dry to cool ( high today was 20) and lots of rain. No more drought for us.

Next year ( words every gardener spouts) I must remember to sow beans at 2 or 3 week intervals to prolong the season. We did grow both bush and pole beans and that meant a good 3 weeks of beans but if I'd been on the ball we'd still be picking them. I can't grow carrots either. You still are getting some raspberries and even a few strawberries! That's great.

Hi Henny Penny, Thanks and no I don't sell the cards. I don't grow a lot of things but like to grow a little of the things and Coco likes to eat! I wonder what the secret is to growing good carrots! Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks! Yes, it is much nicer sitting in the house than outside when it is so hot or raining. I don't take time to make cards often. So many fun things to do, don't you think? I think "next year" has got to be every gardeners favorite saying!! Nancy

It is hot here, too, and terribly humid- UGH. At least you got some gifts from your garden. I didn't even have one this year. Hoping for a good Fall for all of us- xo Diana

Very pretty cards, I love sending personal notes to friends and family. Your carrots look better than mine. As skinny as mine are, I sure do like fresh carrots from the garden as they are so much sweeter.

Your note cards are so pretty. I wished we still had some veggies. Our garden started out great and than the rains came. Too much.

Hi NanaDiana, I am so sorry that you didn't get anything from your garden. Do you do a garden in the fall? I think I am losing interest with the heat and my Lyme. Always next year to plan for. Nancy

Hi Susie, Thank you! I think sending personal notes and letters is a lost art. I like to pen pal too. The little I have tasted my skinny carrots they weren't sweet like the boughten ones. Maybe I am just use to the boughten taste! Nancy

Hi Betty from My Irish Cottage Home, Thank you! Sorry your garden petered out. Mine is on the way out now too. It was nice to have the produce while it lasted though! Better luck next year for you. Nancy

Hi Nancy ... your harvest looks good ... even if just a little bit at a time. I would love to garden, but not enough time. Maybe one day. Nothing better than home grown tomatoes. Cute note cards too. It's nice that you still send cards.
Blessings,

Hi Audrey, Thanks! Gardening does take a lot of time but mine has not been kept up the best this year. Maybe soon you will be able to relax and plant a little! Nancy

Those note cards are sweet... And very handy!
You dog will eat carrots? Our dog used to spit out anything remotely like a vegetable!
They look like lovely little carrots, though.
And nothing is sweeter than eating the fruits of your labours :)

Hi Alex, Thanks! Simple note cards are fun to do when I have time! Our dog will eat almost any vegetable. I accidentally dropped a piece of the core from the cabbage on the floor and I didn't think she would eat it. She gobbled it up and didn't blink an eye! Nancy

The notecards are so cute!

We had similar troubles with our peach tree this year. Very disappointing.

Hi Leigh, Thanks! Yes, it is disappointing about our peaches but we have been able to salvage just a few. Hoping for a better year next year!! You too!! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
