Crisp, Grands, Pillow Cases, Messy & Coco

I made an apple crisp from some of the half bushel of apples that were left after the apple sauce we froze.  It was yummy!

This was one of our little goblins, Cali, for Halloween!  If I remember correctly I think she was Elsa!

Our other goblin, Gracie, was Wonder Women with the fashion glasses and all!!  I had bought enough little candy bars and packages of M&M's for 100.  We had about 36 little goblins.  It was a rainy night.

Our little climbing rose bush had the leaves eaten off this summer.  The leaves have grown back and it is bravely blooming in November!

I have been busy working on Christmas pillow cases.  Here are five sets completed.

Do you think Santa's workshop is as messy as mine?

Coco makes a nice spot to place my mouse pad.  She doesn't seem to mind as long as she can be up there with me.  Glad you could visit!

Your little goblins are as cute as can be. I love those pillow cases...what great Christmas gifts those would make!
Loving your Coco! Hope you have a great night- xo Diana

Hi NanaDiana, Thanks! The pillow cases are fun to make! Anytime we sit in that chair Coco likes to be on our laps! Nancy

I love apple crisp and make it quite often. With a dollop of vanilla ice cream...yum!
Christmas pillowcases! I've never thought of having 'seasonal' pillowcases. What a great idea. Although I don't think I'd want to hide it in the bedroom. I'd probably put it on the couch.

Hi Granny marigold, I must get busy and make up another apple crisp with the apples left! Yes, I think the seasonal pillowcases would look pretty on the couch too. Might even be made like a pillowcase but for a smaller pillow if I couldn figure out the dimensions!! Nancy

I always "think" we will be having many more trick or treaters than we actually do...and then have to deal with all that leftover chocolate ;)

Hi, Margaret, Well, guess who is eating the left over candy!! We live on the outside of the subdivision so I don't think we get as many as they do in the middle. Next year I won't buy for so many. Have a good day! Nancy

How nice to have beautiful roses blooming in November. Those pillow cases are adorable. I too bought way too much Halloween candy.

Hi Norma, Thanks and thanks for visiting me. Are you eating your Halloween left over candy like me?? I will miss the color of the flowers in the yard during the winter! Nancy

That apple crisp looks so good. Have you shared your recipe on your blog? You pillow cases are really pretty and would make nice Christmas presents. You little girls are so cute and I bet they had a fun Halloween.

Hi Audrey, Thanks! I used the recipe in my old Betty Crocker cook book for the apple crisp. It is very simple. I cut out two more Christmas pillow cases to make today. One set for ourselves and one set extra incase I need a last minute gift. Thanks for commenting! Nancy

Oh my! I love those pillowcases!! I am only just starting my Christmas sewing...perhaps leaving it a bit late! Partly due to the fact that my sewing machine is on its last legs, think I have a bit of trepidation about starting out on something only to have the machine break down and not be able to finish it.

Hi Rosie, Thanks! I don't start early enough making things for Christmas either! Do you have the pattern? I hope your sewing machine keeps working for you!! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Yesterday when I went out to the mailbox I discovered that my lone rosebush had all it's leaves eaten off too. I suspect deer!

Christmas pillowcases is a lovely idea!

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Leigh, Oh, no! Sorry about your rosebush. We don't get deer in our yard. I suspect a rabbit or bugs ate mine. We had trouble with bunnies for awhile! Nancy

Your granddaughters are so cute! I love the Christmas pillowcases...and Coco with the mouse pad. Our dogs will do about anything to be close to us, won't they. That is so sweet.

Hi Gert! Thanks! I have a sister whose name is Gertrude. We called Gert for years but now she wants to be called Trudy. Hard to get use to the change when you have known them as one name all those years. Glad you could visit! Nancy

Hi Henny Penny, Thanks! It is fun to make the pillowcases! You should try it! Isn't it great to have a pet cuddle up to you! Nothing can beat that! Nancy

Love your 'mouse' pad Nancy!
Our dog is too big to be a lap dog.
But our birds are always on our shoulders, helping us 'edit' our work!

Well I had a nice long comment on here the other day and I lost it! I was using my phone, so now I'm using my computer. I love the pillow cases. I think they are the perfect gift because they don't take up EXTRA room to use them and they help decorate for the holidays! I made an apple pie from canned apples and it's the best pie I ever made! YUM!

To answer your question from a couple of weeks ago (I did try earlier!) we live in Kokomo. Glad to know another Indiana blogger!

Hi Ellen, Thanks for stopping by! Don't you think all animals just like to be close to us! If we sit in the recliner and put our feet up Coco wants to be in our laps most of the time! Nancy

Hi Bee Lady, Thanks for trying again to comment! I have heard of Kokomo. Need to look at a map and see how far it is from Valparaiso or Chesterton. Your apple pie sounds yummy. I have made a couple apple crisps! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
