Rain, rain and more rain!

Rain, rain and more rain!!  We sure have gotten enough of it lately.  Better rain than snow I guess although we have had a little of that also.  This was a path through my flowers but now it is a river.  It will dry up quickly once this rain stops!

Daffodils are about the only thing we have blooming in our yard.  I wish I had some of those sweet little crocuses.  Maybe next year!

This is my newly planted strawberry bed.  I understand that strawberries are pretty hardy but I am taking no chances!  I cover them almost every night!

I don't know if you can see the blue on this bird or not but it has been a real treat to have this bluebird come visit our yard a few times this year as we no longer have a bird feeder to feed the birds.

They are gone!!  Those overgrown bushes are gone.  Now to decide what to put in there and get them planted.

A beautiful rose to brighten my day from my secret admirer!  I love my secret admirer!!  Like you I am looking forward to spring!  Hang in there friends!!

I certainly wish we would have gotten rain! We got snow, and LOTS of it. But I'm hoping that is it for now.
Such a lovely rose---Enjoy!

Temps are gradually increasing, and Spring is getting closer here, too. The only plants I grow anymore are in pots, as they are easier for me to tend.

How lovely - you are enjoying some lovely flowers both outside and inside! Our daffodils are only a few inches tall - no blooms yet. It's supposed to rain for most of the day today here too...ugh..where is spring?

Hi Tired Teacher, nice to see your comment. I do grow a few things in pots but sometimes I wonder if I don't do as well in pots. Do you have a secret for success? Nancy

Hi Nancy ... glad you are getting good rains. We sure could use some here in Texas. I bet you are happy to be able to work in the yard and garden. Your daffodils are so pretty. The deer eat my daffodils as soon as the bloom. Enjoy your spring weather.

Bluebirds are one of my favourite birds although we have to go a hundred miles or so east to see them. Usually that happens when we go pick fruit in July.
I really like that white concrete? pillar in your garden. Is it part of a fountain?
Hope your weather smartens up real soon.

Hi Audrey, Good to hear from you. Maybe I could send you a little of our rains! It was nice day here today though and I was able to work outside for awhile. Sorry about your daffodils!! Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold, Glad you could visit! The bluebirds don't come here often so it is a special treat when I see one! That while pillar in my garden is part of our old fountain! You guessed correctly! Nancy

Hi Nancy, I was happy for your visit to my blog today. I see you love your yard with flowers and garden as much as I love mine. Love your daffodils and that blue bird is so sweet. We actually have some nesting in our yard. I'm so excited. Hope to see you again real soon.

Ooo, a lovely bare spot for planting something!

Hi Leigh, Yes, we will have to decide soon what to put in there. The kids will probably help us do that! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
