April 5, 2022 Fingers crossed!

Can you see the little tiny green on the right hand side?  That is my turnips that came up.  The peas were suppose to come up on the other side and carrots in another box but neither has peaked through so will probably be replanting.  We have had cold weather and lots of rain.

Planted the bunching onions I started in the house out in the cold frame today.  We will have a couple nights of cold weather yet but I can put the cover down.

I am so jealous!  Rosie would rather sleep on Bob's lap than mine.

Dehydrating celery leaves from the grocery store celery.

These are gluten free biscuits made from a mix from Aldi's.  No, they are not tasty but better than nothing!

Rosie likes to tear the stuffing out of her toys.  She had a one year old birthday this week so bought a new one for her.  All for this time.  Have a good week......Nancy

I see those tiny turnips! I hope the other plants come up too. This spring has been very unpredictable. We're back into cold after a few warmer days.
Rosie looks so comfy on Bob's lap. Zoey is snuggled in with Dennnis right now too. She goes back and forth between us. She also tears the stuffing out of her toys. Puppies!
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy

My potatoes are coming up nicely. We are just trying to keep the water off of them from the rain so they won't drown! Hope your little veggies do good for you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Hi Betsy, Puppies are fun but full of mischief! Glad you could see the turnips. My phone does not take bigger pictures so will go back to reviewing how to use the camera. I am anxious for nice weather as you are also..... Nancy

Hi Cindy, Glad your potatoes are doing nicely. This will be my 2nd year here planting them so still learning as growing in grow bags. Will probably plant them around Good Friday here. We have had lots of rain also. Looking forward to nice weather!.....Nancy

I have a SIL who has to eat gluten free and also sugar free. She says that she finds the best mixes at Costco. I don't know if you have a Costco nearby but if so it might be worth checking out.

Happy Birthday Rosie! I have my onions out . . . planted this week, but I've not planted peas, maybe because they didn't do well last year. I shouldn't use that for an excuse. I always wait a little longer to plant my carrots and beets, provably not until the end of April and I've always had a good crop (knock on wood, so they say). Who are these people "they that are always saying" LOL.

Hi Granny Marigold, We do have a Costco Membership but when I was there I don't remember seeing that much I was interested in. I do like to do my own baking but I seem to see more GF things at Adi's. But maybe I just didn't see them at Costco as it is a large store and I don't have the energy (CFS) to wander. I may need to use one of those machines you ride on and hope I don't run anyone down! Thanks for the suggestion......Nancy

Hi Connie, I am probably just too anxious to get started with planting. Since I can't do a lot at a time I just want to get at it but we are still having some cold nights. We have also had a lot of rain. Do you trim back all your rose bushes and fertilize them? We only have two rose bushes but find that is a job. Bob cut the one back today for me. I can't imagine trying to keep up to all your wonderful garden. You do so well....Nancy

Our weather has been more unpredictable than usual. I had to bring some strawberry starts into the house a couple of nights ago because we were having an unexpected freeze and then two days later it was 70 degrees which is 15 degrees warmer than our average for this time of year. I think I am going to wait a few more weeks before trying to plant anything. I must say though, that in spite of the unpredictable weather the weeds are coming along quite nicely!

Hi Gloria dear, I know. Isn't this weather crazy! Will only make food prices higher. I am anxious for nice weather though! Thanks for stopping by!......Nancy

Just Gloria is fine. We have had some hail on this cold Palm Sunday. Right now as I look out the window I can see snow mixed in with the rain. Brr!Most unusual.
