Work, Pictures, Fashion, Peas & Spray

I had to get her done so I put on my winter jacket and ear muffs and got to it!!

I had bought three large pots to put outside Coco's domain to plant onions and a squash so filled them up and planted the onions.  Will do the squash when it warms up.  Note the poor Elderberry bushes!  They sure look like they are dead!  "Wonderful Gardener" trimmed them way back last year.  He hopes they will die!  I hope not!!

I had visitors!  Gracie brought me new artwork for my refrigerator!

Cali brought one she colored for Papa.  She doesn't like her picture taken most of the time!  On the other hand, Gracie loves to pose!

You will never guess what we are doing here!!  Playing Hide the Thimble outdoors only it is an empty vitamin bottle.  It provided lots of fun and fresh air!

After that we had to have a fashion show!  I snuck this picture of Cali!  Nana needs to find more dress up clothes to play with!

And here is Gracie posing!  No problem with taking pictures of her!  I had lots to choose from!!!!!!!

We finally got a couple days when I didn't have to wear my ear muffs although it is suppose to get back down into the 40's again.  I planted my sugar peas against my makeshift trellis.  I was so happy about that until I read at the bottom of the package after I had planted them that I was suppose to soak them!! Oh, no!!!  I hope and pray they come up anyway!  The ones that I planted last year I didn't have to soak but these are a different kind.  Woe is me!

I bought my spray for my fruit trees today so that I will be prepared!  I will have to wait awhile yet but the tree lady will send me an e-mail and tell me when!  I am hoping for lots of peaches, Asian pears and sweet cherries this year!  I am trying to go organic and she said this would be okay to use.  Dream on till harvest!!!

Carrots again, Honey Mustard Dressing, Cookies & Spring,

Dehydrated more carrots for soup!!  Love my dehydrator!

I made up a little Honey Mustard Dressing for my salad.  Now if I was ambitious like Daphne I would make my own mustard to go in it!!!

These are No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookie Bars.  They have peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, oats, coconut, nuts and chocolate chips in them.  They are suppose to be healthier and "wonderful gardener" likes them so that is a good thing!!

Our daughter brought these flowers over and said she was bringing us a little bit of spring!  They sure are pretty but I don't think they have worked bringing us spring!  It is below colder than normal temperatures!  They do cheer the place up though!

Coco is out in my garden box looking for vegetables.  She wishes Mom would hurry up and plant some.  Mom wishes she could too but not for Coco to pick!

Well, what is a furbaby to do when there are no veggies to snitch!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!!

I was almost out of apple slices so got busy and we did up another dehydrator full!  Yum!  Hubby uses the apple peeler that peels and  slices the apples and I arrange them in the dehydrator.  Many hands or four hands I should say make light work!

How discouraging it was to see this one day last week!!!

Bought a new thermometer for my cold frame today.  It is smaller than what this picture shows it to be!

Also bought three new pots today to plant some onions and a butternut squash outside my back yard.  Is this what you call faith!?!?  Perhaps warmer weather will come soon!  I am afraid Coco might eat the onions back there and my husband does not like the squash running all over the grass he has to mow.  There is cement here so hopefully the squash will run all over the cement and produce me lots of squash!  How are your gardens doing?

Hope, Strawberries, Bread and Coco

I put on my boots and trudged out to my cold frame one day.  The top of the snow was soft but the bottom layer was hard enough for me to walk on.  I brushed the rest of the ice off the cold frame and looked inside..........

Lo and behold I found a little greenery!  The spinach made it, the kale made it, the red lettuce made it and a little of the endive.  There was a small back corner empty and I felt the soil.  It felt warm to my touch so I planted a few radishes!  Do you think they will grow?  I put the cold frame covers back down and went in the house hoping!!!!

Back of the house I have a few daffodils planted.  Do you see them?  More hope that this winter that never ends will end!!

More hope!  The Autumn Joy Sedum which I call Live Forever is peaking through!

This temperature is very unusual for this time of year here and I doubt I see it again for awhile but it gives me more hope!  Gardening season will eventually get here after this winter that never ends!!

Found more FL strawberries for a good price.  Did a whole dehydrator full this time!

I made more bread.  Looks good and tastes good but could anyone tell me why when I slice the middle slices the top crust and a little of the bread separates from the rest of the slice????  Makes it hard to use in the toaster!

Coco loves peanut butter!  But then what doesn't Coco love!  I gave her the empty one to clean out.

This occupies her for quite awhile!  We both are anxious to get out and wander around the yard more!

Not Much New!

Not much new here!!!  I have been wanting to try dehydrating strawberries so when I found some FL ones that were 99 cents a box I bought a box.  Sliced them and put them in the dehydrator.  They are a hit and I really like them cut up in my granola mixture!  I want to do more now.  Learning how to use my dehydrator for more things!

Since I only had the one box of strawberries to try I used the other trays for carrots for soup.

Our daughter, Sue, brought these special cupcakes over for Valentine's Day!  They were delicious!  And no calories either! LOL

Papa had a birthday!  Here are the "littles" putting candles on his cake!!  That's all the news this time!  Hopefully the weather will warm up and I will be back to gardening soon!  Stay warm!

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
