No Harvest, Snow, Coffee grounds and Chimes!

I found some chimes smaller like these that I liked.  Yielded to temptation and went to get them!  We decided to get the larger ones!  Bigger is better, right!  And more expensive!  Brought them home and hung them up in the dining area just to make sure they were okay.  Realized they were much too large for the spot we wanted.  Took them back and the store was kind enough to exchange them for the smallest ones which were the original ones I had looked at!  Bigger is not always better!!!!

Here is a larger view.  They have words and sayings on them.

Winter is not done with Northeast Indiana yet!!!!

Picked up this gardening book from our Library on Inter-Library loan.  "Fresh Food From Small Spaces" by R. J. Ruppenthal.  So far I think it is a pretty good book for me.

And guess what these are!  Our morning coffee grounds!  Waiting for me to brave the snow and cold to be put on the garden or compost pile! You have to be a gardener to understand what us gardeners will do for better soil!!!

My "wonderful gardener" brought a little bit of beauty to me!  Just because I am me! (altho I think lots of times he probably wishes I was someone else)  The color of rose was just a little bit different and so pretty.  Called Hot Pink!!!!!

I always try to save stuff for the garden and it most the time goes bad before I get brave enough to go out. I often use the library for my garden research! Sometimes it is much better to sit down with a book than the computer!

Hi Shawn Ann, The only things I am saving right now are egg shells and coffee grounds. When it gets closer to garden time I will start saving the food scraps and freeze them till warm enough to put our previous compost on the garden. Then I will start a new compost pile. I only have one compost pile at a time. Thanks for visiting!!! Nancy

Hi Nancy!
What neat chimes! I've never seen anything like that before. Your snow-covered garden looks lovely and I LOVE to see where interlibrary loan books originate from! When I was homeschooling my girls, I did a lot of ILLs and used them as a mini-geography lesson when they arrived. Such fun. We save our coffee grounds here too for our garden and it'd be strange to throw them in the wastebasket, as we've been doing this for so long now. And last, but not least, what a very nice husband you have to bring you such a beautiful rose.

Hi Lisa, Thanks! I think I will really enjoy the new chimes as almost all of my old ones broke. I especially liked it because of the sayings on it. It is nice to have a fresh flower once in awhile during the winter months! I do appreciate my hubby's thoughtfulness! Thanks for visiting! Come again! Nancy

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
