Asparagus, Spinach, Pear Blossoms & Abigail

I had two small pickings of asparagus and now we have gone on vacation!  Not the smart thing to do this time of year!  My "wonderful gardener" does not eat asparagus so I got to enjoy it all for myself.  I am hoping I will still have some to harvest when I get back home.

My spinach was starting to go to seed so I picked this and froze it before we left.

Our Chandelier Pear tree is blooming so that must mean that warmer weather has arrived???

I have two  Dwarf Asian pear trees and this is one of them in bloom.  They aren't very large yet and I wonder if I will get any pears this year.

We went out east to visit a couple of our sons and their families.  This is our granddaughter Abigail on her new bike who is in the 1st grade.  She is a whiz!

Wow some nice asparagus. I'm very envious of everyone else's as mine died on me. I'm planting more though. Hope spring eternal.

Look at that nice asparagus!

How fun to visit your grand children. My twins are in the first grade too, and my daughter just learned to ride her bike without training wheels recently. Looks like your grand daughter is a pro.

Hi Nancy! The spinach looks yummy! I'm not too keen on asparagus, but it looks good. You may have pears this year. You'll know soon after the blossoms die. The little pears will begin to emerge. I do have some pears and I'm so excited! There won't be many, but it will be nice to harvest my own. Glad you are visiting family! Abigail looks like she's having fun! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Bama Girl, The asparagus always tastes so good when it first comes in but after awhile I am done with it till the next year! I do hope I have pears. So far I have not been too successful with fruit trees! Thanks for stopping by! Nancy

Your spinach is gorgeous....so healthy looking and I am so jealous of your very own asparagus patch. I bought some fresh at the farmer's market for $4.00 a pound. Expensive but it was so much better than the grocery store stuff.

Hi Lynn, Thanks! I only have about five plants of asparagus but that is plenty as my hubby doesn't like it. I love having my own spinach too! Thanks for stopping by! Nancy

OOOh love asparagus. Lucky you to be able to grow it. I heard that it takes 2 yrs after planting before it produces. Nothing like fresh veggies from your own garden, they seem to taste so much better.
Grandchildren are such treasures. It nice to see them growing into little adults. x

Your asparagus looks so good...a quilt friend brought me some from her husband's garden at our Wednesday guild meeting. He died this past year and she feels such pride in taking car of it for him. This reminds me to cook it...
