Guess what! Food, Plates, Flowers, Wallet & Curtains

Lettuce again!!!!  Ha, ha!  Well, I did harvest a couple other things too and much of the lettuce has bolted and is getting bitter.  But soon....I will have shelling peas to eat and I saw some sugar peas on the plants today!!  Yippee!

I believe this will be the last of the radishes for this year!  I have not had luck trying to grow them in the fall but may get ambitious and try again.

Picked a few small strawberries from the patch I didn't get anything from last year!

The "Littles" were over yesterday and picked the few strawberries out there.  Of course they ate them!

I have been picking a little lavender from the lavender circle and hanging it to dry.  This is in my grandmother's spoon holder I believe.

No more spinach left!  I am trying to grow more but not much success yet!  Actually I think this is Swiss Chard and not Spinach.  I need to keep better records!

I went to the thrift store and found these Wedgewood plates for $1 each so bought them.  I already had two so now I have a set for four.

Here is a picture of the flowers in front of the raspberries.  I just love it when they are all in full bloom.  For some reason Cali (one of the littles) thought the sheep should come out of there the other day!

The pergola was in sad need of new curtains so bought some pretty blue sheets and hung them up.  I hope the winds we get here are kind to them!  Ignore the weeds in the bricks.  My "wonderful gardener" is working at getting them out today!

No, this rose is not from my rose circle!  My "wonderful gardener" brought it to me the other day.  I can't help it if my "wonderful gardener" is romantic!!!!!  It is beautiful!

Kathryn's Needles & Pins listed on my blogs on the side had a contest and I won this cute little wallet that she made!!!  She does very nice work and has an etsy store.  Thank you Kathryn!

This is the back sided of it.  I just love that little polka dot ribbon for the zipper pull.

And this is the inside of it.  Such pretty blue and green colors together!  This is it for this Monday.  Hope you all have a happy gardening week!

You remind me that I need to pick some lavender. I want to dry some for my herb mixes. But it is out in the main yard and I always forget about it.

Your lettuce looks wonderful. I haven't picked lettuce in a while. But what I really need to do is go out and plant some more. I bought a variety that is supposed to be good for the summer, but summer and lettuce just don't happen much.

Beautiful strawberries and chard. Good luck with the peas!

Hi Daphne, It tries my patience to pick very much lavender at a time! I am not noted for patience! What kind of mixes do you make? For closets, etc.? I like Prizehead lettuce but don't know how it will do this summer. I had not heard of the kind you are trying for the heat. Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Hi Jenny, Thanks! Can't wait till more of a variety of things are ready to harvest! Thanks for visiting!! Nancy

I do love that wallet! Lucky you! How sweet of your Wonderful Gardener to bring you a rose! It is so pretty. Quentin has his heart set on building a pergola. Maybe he will get around to it soon. I love yours with the blue curtains. The plates were a great find! And your garden always looks so nice!!

I hope your day has been wonderful.

Hi Vicki, It was 85 degrees here today. That is a little too warm to suit my fancy! Our pergola needs a new roof so that is in the plans soon. I hope you get yours. Ours is a little small but I like it anyway. Thanks for visiting!!! Nancy

Lovely harvest week for you. Yes those are chard and not spinach, at least on top. Mine usually last the whole summer around here. Maybe I have had some flukes, but hey, I enjoy them! Beautiful flowers! And an extra special one from your wonderful gardener! How sweet!

Hi Shawn Ann, Thanks! Do you mean your chard or your spinach lasts all summer? If spinach, what kind do you plant? When it gets hot here my spinach does not do well. Us gardeners win a few and lose a few but keep at it! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

A great looking harvest this week and yes that is swiss chard not spinach. What a beautiful little pergola. We are thinking of putting one is on our back porch, yours looks great!!

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi stoneyacres, Thank you. I like our little pergola but it is only large enough for two and crowded to entertain with four so I would suggest a little larger if you put one in. If we didn't have the potting table in there it would make more room though. Nancy

You've posted about so many lovely things today! Your harvests always look so healthy and colorful, your new curtains look nice in your pergola, beautiful rose, how lucky to find more Wedgewood plates and last, but certainly not least - your adorable Littles and how they are experiencing the taste of fresh picked strawberries that they will probably always remember, and may inspire them to have a garden one day too.

Hi Lisa, Thank you for your kind comments! I do hope that the "littles" will enjoy their own gardens someday. Their daddy has one so maybe we both will influence them to garden. Thank you for visiting!! Nancy

Oh your fresh garden produce looks wonderful! especially those strawberries! I don't have a vegetable garden this year; our daughters are giving us things, so I don't even have to hoe :)

Thank you for visiting my blog and inviting me to yours. It seems we have some things in common: Jesus Christ our Savior, quilting, and flowers. I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Hi lil red hen, You are lucky! Someone else to do the work and you get the harvest!! Yes, we do have some things in common and I have added your blog to my sidebar of favorite blogs. Thanks for visiting! Come again! Nancy

I started some lavender seeds in my friend's greenhouse this past winter and just planted it in my garden. I hope it grows big like yours so I can pick lavender. Lavender is not easy to grow around here. Have a super sweet weekend. ~ Lynn P.S. the yellow ice cream is called PlayDough and it was delicious.

Hi Lynn, I hope your lavender grows for you. I have one plant in a different spot that has nice long stems. Some in the lavender circle are short. PlayDough ice cream! How fun!!! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

I love your pergola, it is so pretty and your blue bed sheet curtains are wonderful. I use bed sheets a lot for outdoor decorating, too. We have a couple of those folding 6 foot tables, and a twin bed sheet makes a perfect table cloth, plus they are cheaper than table cloths, so you can afford a few different colors.
I bought soft blue for a backyard baby shower last year and bright red for a BBQ :) I don't get expensive ones for this purpose, so they end up costing a little more than plastic, but are nicer, and go into the washer for many years to come. :)
Thank you for all the delightful comments that you leave on my posts.
You are so sweet and have a lovely way of spreading sunshine :)
Have a wonderful day.
Connie :)

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
