Harvest Time and Other Events!

I still have two more cabbages to harvest!  I will not plant so many next year! LOL

See those four small tomatoes in the front?  They are suppose to be Brandywine!  Brandywine tomatoes are suppose to be huge!  What happened to mine??????  Taste great though!

A couple friends came over for quilting/visiting time again!

I finally finished one of the two Valentine table runners that I started quite some time ago!  I guess I need more quilting days with my friends.  Maybe I will get the other one done by next Valentine's Day!

I quilted this design in the middle.

Pulled three  carrots, and big harvest of beans and a cuke!  LOL

Free gloves!!!  At least they are free after I spend the money on the stamp to mail in the rebate!!!

Tomatoes, cherry and sun gold tomatoes, lettuces, couple cucumbers and a few beans.

Coco and her hair cut!!!!!  She hates going.  I have to carry her into the building!

Gracie riding her two-wheeler!  Look at that pig tail flying!

Gracie and her Daddy came over to go bike riding!

More cukes, beans and blackberries picked today!

Picked all this the other day.  Getting a few strawberries!  Please excuse this if it appears a little jumbled as had a problem getting it all posted!  I guess it goes along with no rain and the woes of a gardener!

Every August there is a Chamber Music Festival in Michigan City, IN which is not that far from us.  We were privileged to attend a couple of these concerts!  At least I was privileged!  Wonderful Gardener doesn't think it was such a privilege but he will do most anything for his FAVORITE wife!!!!

Coco takes to haircuts like my Otto takes to toenail clipping! Annie's not so skittish about her nails, and she's evidently due. She "velcroed" her feet to the throw rug this morning!

Very pretty table runners, and nice harvests. I'd love those blackberries, I have a good recipe for blackberry pancake syrup!

Hi Annie*s Granny, Thank you! I guess Annie's feet velcroed to the rug is not so good, huh! Thanks for the blackberry syrup recipe! I bet it will be yummy! Glad you could visit! Nancy

very nice harvest and don't feel bad about brandywines - even when they're small they still taste great.

Hi Jenny,
I am glad that the brandywines still taste good but I am wondering why in the world they are so small! A mystery I guess! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

hi Nancy ... your blog is always so interesting. I love the table runner. Your quilting looks so perfect. You make me want to do a garden ... well, just maybe. Too hot here and no rain.
Love to see what you grow.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.

Hi Audrey, Thanks for the encouragement! We need rain so badly here. I think it is beginning to seem like fall and will be glad to put my garden to bed although I will miss the fresh veggies! Thanks for visiting!! Nancy

Blackberry syrup sounds wonderful. Yum. I spent some time dealing with a friend's plums so I made some syrup too. It is a good way to deal with a lot of fruit.

You're getting a wonderful variety. I have several cabbages left in the garden too. I am afraid to pick more than one at a time because it won't all get eaten!
Are there any large tomatoes on your brandywine plant? Sometimes I find that when I have tomatoes growing like that they put so much energy into growing a few big ones that the rest seem small or normal sized. Maybe not enough nutrition to feed all the big tomatoes.
Lots of fun going on at your house!

Mmmm, those blackberries look delicious! And the rest of the harvest looks wonderful too. What a beautiful table runner! I quilted for many years, but have pulled away from it. You may be inspiring me to try some again. I tend to do things in cycles, lol!

fantastic table runner...and you finished!! Love the hearts in the center also..

wish I lived closer so I could come over and quilt with ya'll !!

Hi Daphne, I just need to find time to make that blackberry syrup. Hope it turns out! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Hi Shawn Ann, I think maybe too many tomatoes on the plant could be part of the reason my Brandywine are so small. I made freezer cole slaw out of some of my cabbage but plan to use the last two to make regular cole slaw. Thanks for commenting! Nancy

Hi Polka Dot Closet, I have a cabbage all shredded. Now to get the dressing made! Coco could care less how she looks I really think as long as she gets her veggies to eat! Thanks for commenting! Nancy

Hi Barbie, Thanks! But I don't have a pomegranate like you have! Glad you could visit! Nancy

Is it weird that I think most of what you grew would be great for my kid, if blended together: berries, cukes, greens... he'd love it :-)

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Ben, Maybe your kid would like it all blended together but I am not sure I would! Thanks for commenting! Nancy

Would love a tomato or cabbage!
And how wonderful to be able to quilt with friends; none of my friends quilt. I'd probably talk more than quilt :)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your method for storing your fabrics; sounds like a good idea!

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi lil red hen, I will gladly share tomatoes with you if you can stop by! Only one cabbage left now thought so you can't have that! LOL Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Nancy, it wonderful to see all of your harvests. The cabbage looks wonderful. I have sauerkraut in the crock right now. Can't wait to plant cabbage this fall and make more and more. Wow - Gracie is flying on her bike. FUN! and Coco's new hair cut is grand! What a fun quilting & visiting time you had with friends. I used to have wonderful times like that with beading friends when we lived in CA. Miss it. Have a great day. I hope you and I both get rain!
