Fun and Harvest!!

My huge harvest!  Picked Oct. 21st!

Picked Raspberries today!  Pretty sad, huh!  When you consider it is Oct. 27th in Northwest Indiana I guess it is not so bad.

Still picking lettuce, kale and a little small spinach for my salads.  Will be going on vacation though and no one will be here to put the cover to the cold frame down.  Hoping for nice weather!!!!!

Poor Coco!  What is a furbaby to do when there are no more veggies out there for her to snitch!  Coco doesn't care for lettuce, kale or spinach!!!  Raspberries, tomatoes, green beans, carrots and squash are more to her liking!  Grapes too but Mom does not want her to have them!

I am drinking my elderberry/mint tea and hoping to stay healthy!

We celebrated our little four year old granddaughter's birthday Oct. 22nd!!  She likes to pretend that she is playing my electronic piano but her Mom has also started teaching her to play the piano.

I went to Gracie's first grade Halloween party!  Can you tell those girls love that cool whip on their forks!  Four grades playing games in the gym at the same time made the noise level a little high! Well, not just a little but very high you might say!  Enjoy your week!

Hi Nancy! The cold frame is doing a good job producing your salads! What fun the party must have been! The four-year-old is so cute playing the piano! The elderberry tea looks delicious! Hopefully it will help boost your immune system this winter! Have fun on vacation! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Nancy ... just gotta love little grand-girls. Sweet age too. She is precious. Glad you are still able to harvest a little from your garden. Need to get me some elderberry tea. I have the tablets to take when I have a sore throat coming on and it knocks it right away.
Thanks and have a happy week.
Blessing,

Hi Felecia, Thanks! Love our little girls! Yes, the cold frame was doing a good job but didn't think we would get a frost last night so didn't put it down and we did get a frost so we will see how things do now. Thanks for commenting! Nancy

Hi Audrey, Thanks. So nice living close to the two little ones. Had a frost last night and didn't think we were suppose to so didn't put the cover to the cold frame down. I wonder if my lettuces will be okay! Thank you for visiting! Nancy

Like the first sun-warmed strawberry of the season, I bet this last one tasted like a little bit of heaven. (But, then, strawberries are my favorite food, too...)

Hi Lisa, Thank you! The cup and saucer were from a thrift shop. I don't think they originally were meant for each other! Glad you could visit! Nancy

What adorable grands you have for sure! Fresh berries this time of year must be a treat. :) Poor Coco! She probably gets winter time blues too! I have never heard of elderberry tea but will look for some.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi vicki, Thanks! We are on vacation visiting some other grandkids now. I dried my elderberry flowers from my bushes and use a tsp of that a tsp of mint to make my tea. Steep 4 mins. Thanks for visiting!! Nancy

Hi Nancy, what beautiful little granddaughters. I think it is wonderful that your four year old has a passion for the piano and that her Mom can teach her.
Have a wonderful vacation :)

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
