Crafts, Trip & Coco

I made two more sets of pillow cases, one for our bed to go with the Christmas quilt I had made previously and one to have for an extra gift in case one is needed.  I am tired of making pillow cases so this is it for now!!!

Needed some more "Just a little note" cards so made up these again.

I love this color of yarn and bought three of them.  I hope to get started soon knitting myself a scarf.  Finished up one more dish cloth.

We took an overnight trip to Shipshewana, IN.  An Amish area.  Met up with some friends we had not seen for awhile for lunch and looked in a few stores.  I can't seem to resist music things so these were added!

From Shipshewana we went over to Napanee and saw the play, "Mary Poppins" in the Round Barn Theater.

Coco visited her little friend, Sophia, while we were gone.  I know she gets very, very good care there but there is no place like home in Mom's bed on her own little quilt!  It is good to be home even for a dog I guess!

That sounds like such a fun trip. Poppy and I haven't done anything like that in years. He keeps saying, "when I retire"! We'll see. I would love to know how to knit dish cloths. Your note cards are so pretty and so are the pillow cases. You make me want to get busy making something! You must have lots of Christmas gifts ready. Henny

Hi Henny Penny, Thank you! I don't really have a lot made. I am slow at doing things! Don't wait till Poppy retires. Starts doing things now. One never knows how long your health will last! I have Lyme Disease now and Bob has neuropathy but we do what we can and we are glad we went full-timing in our RV for a couple years and got to do all we did back then when our health was better! I would love to teach you how to knit dish cloths!!! Nancy

My goodness but you are getting things done! I like the idea of seasonal pillowcases and your note cards are lovely. I have a sister that sews well and she also makes note cards that she sketches herself. Somehow I got neither the talent for sewing nor drawing.
I totally agree that people should not wait too long to start doing the things they always wanted to do or they might no longer have the energy or health to do them.

Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks! I am sure you have other talents that aren't sewing or making note cards!! I tried to post on your blog. I hope it went through. Nancy

You are quite the prolific crafter! I would love to start knitting again...and learning to crochet is on my list. Maybe this winter! Maybe! ;)

Ho Norma, No, I am not really talented. Just persistent and copy and learn from others! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Hi Kim, Thanks for visiting my blog! I would love to learn how to follow a pattern and crochet things also. Seems like there is not enough hours in a day or else I am not using my energy wisely!! Hope you have success learning to crochet this year! Nancy

Love your craft work. Lovely! The yarn is such a pretty color, that will make a lovely scarf.

I have lived in Indiana all my life and have never made it that far North to visit. Would love to go sometime. I have many distant relatives up there, as my paternal grandmother came from Amish ancestors.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for leaving a comment on the scarves I've been making. I like to wear scarves, but can't keep them on long for the very reason you mentioned.

The musical socks are adorable!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving the nice comments. I'd love to see your Christmas quilt. I've just begun work on one for our queen size bed. I'm in the cutting and laying out step right now. I'd love to see your Christmas quilt. Do you have photos posted on your blog? Coco is a cutie and looks very relaxed here. Love your notecards! ~ Nancy

Hi Leigh, Thanks! I think most music stores carry the music socks. It would be a nice Christmas gift for your daughter! Nancy

Ho A Joyful Cottage. Next week when I put the Christmas quilt on the bed and the pillow cases I made I will try to post a picture on my blog of it. What design are you making yours? Mine is just squares and triangles. Thanks for visiting. Nancy
