That and This!

First Asparagus tastes so good!  I had enough for a couple of meals and roasted it.  Yum!

I defrosted my freezers and found lots of packages of raspberries I need to use up before the fresh ones start so made a pie.  I have not been making very many pies this year due to lack of energy from Lyme Disease. (Well, maybe a little laziness too!)

My new strawberries are doing well.  The instructions say to  cut off the blossoms until July.  They are everbearing plants so should get a few berries after that this year.

This is the cover I keep over them so that Coco does not eat them or pull them out!

My Sugar Peas grew in spite of the fact that I forgot to water them for awhile after I planted them!

I forgot to shut the garden gate and of course Coco took that opportunity to sneak in and eat the top off this one asparagus!

We had visitors today!  Gracie is playing the piano for Nana and Papa!

Cali is learning to play also.  I love to play my piano and it makes my heart happy to see they are learning too.

Time for a little Barbie Doll attention now.  I need to watch the garage sales for more Barbie clothes.  I don't have the patience to sew those little things!  Thanks for visiting!!!

Fresh asparagus Yumm Yumm . And a raspberry pie too. You have been busy in the kitchen. Naughty Coco munching on asparagus ( probably good vitamins in it though). Bracken will eat almost anything vegetable or whatever only last week he was given a piece of raw Moose ( I'm not sure what part but it was like liver) he wouldn't go near it. Made me smile. Being a vegetarian myself I thought Bracken was being very sensible. For a change.

Hi Granny Marigold, I don't think I want a raw piece of Moose meat either! LOL I do eat meat though but Coco doesn't get a chance to eat that! Thanks for your visit! Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold....fresh asparagus is the best, isn't it? Looking forward to that next month in these parts.
Yay for future pianists! I play terribly, but still enjoy it.

Nancy ... your fresh asparagus looks so good. I do love it, but Mr. Z. does not. Your pie looks yummy too. You are so lucky to have your grand girls over to visit and play the piano for you. Hope you keep feeling good and enjoy gardening this year.
Hugs,
Audrey Z.

Hi Sue, Nice to have you visit! You must be a month behind us for the asparagus. It doesn't matter how well you play as long as you do enjoy it! Nancy

Hi Audrey, Thank you for the good wishes about being well enough to garden. I don't have the stamina I use to but so far so good! Because I don't have a lot of asparagus plants it is nice that hubby doesn't like it! LOL Nancy

Yummy asparagus! Looks like Coco knows a good thing when she sees it! I'm still patiently waiting for mine to come up - we've had another cold spell so I'm hoping that's why they are being slow and not that they didn't survive the winter!

I am thinking of planting an asparagus patch....still doing research. But now I'm wondering if the critters will just eat it all on me!!

Hi Margaret, I just picked more asparagus this afternoon for my meal again tonight! Yum is right! It has turned cold here again too. Ugh! Hope we both warm up a little! Nancy

Hi Mountain Mama, Nice to have you visit! I had a patch planted outside the garden and Coco, our dog, (my critter!) ate it to the ground so I am not sure if yours would survive or not but it sure is nice to have your own! Nancy

I love roasted asparagus, Nancy. Heck, I love just about any kind of roasted vegetables. I bet that pie is delish! I had a plant come up in my flower bed and my neighbor told me she thinks it's a raspberry plant. I sure hope so. I would love to get fresh ones. Look forward to seeing how your garden grows!

Hi Laurie, Thanks for the visit! The pie was delicious and I tried not to eat too much of it! We have everbearing raspberries and sure do enjoy them. Hope your plant is one of them! Nancy

Hi! I am so happy to come over and visit. I enjoy seeing your gardens (I only have one asparagus! I thought they died as they weren't popping up so I turned over the garden dirt..)and you are so lucky to have so many grandchildren! Smart to live by them...what joy you must have! Andrea
