Quilting, Gardening & Baby Shower

I had a quilting day with two friends at my house.  This is Darla pressing her quilt blocks.  I love to have quilting days at my house!

Ann was using the cutting board.  I don't have one big craft room so we cut and iron in the kitchen and sew in the craft room.  It works!

This is Ann's quilt laid out on the bed.  The picture does not do it justice as the colors and material make it look so rich and beautiful!

This is a new self-watering box on wheels so that I can move it around to get more sun.  I didn't know I was getting self-watering and have never used one before.  Do you think I will like it????

The inside looks like this except the spout has to be stuck in the hole yet.

Another quilting picture.   The bed makes a nice table to lay things on.  Coco made a nuisance of herself!

This is Amanda and myself.  She is expecting our first great grandchild!!  Her name will be Leanora.  Her baby shower was this past Saturday.

Our daughter's friend made the cupcakes.  They were delicious and beautiful!

I tried to get a close up of the cupcakes.  The baby room's theme is elephants and is done in lavender and grey.  Sue's friend made the darling tops for the cupcakes out of fondant  --  Babies and Elephants.  What a lot of work but they were darling!

This is the Grandma and Grandpa to be for the first time!  Our daughter Sue did all the decorations and they were so pretty.

I tried to get a picture of the table centerpiece but didn't get the cute top.  That is Great-great Aunt Joan there with the white hair and black glasses.  The top was balloons with raindrops coming down.

The new mommy and daddy to be.  Travis and Amanda.  I am glad that you could visit and hope you will leave your comments and suggestions!  Have a wonderful week!

I love your new gardening boxes! The wheels on the watering one are genius. And how lovely to have friends over for quilting. That's the best kind of way to socialize. And congrats on the new great-grandbaby to be! You look too young to be a great grandma.

I've never heard of a self-watering box, and on wheels. I think you will love it! Congratulations! You must be so excited about the new baby, and those are the prettiest cupcakes! Coco must have missed getting all the attention while the quilting party was going on. Eli was the same way while our company was here over the weekend. I think we have spoiled them. :) But are't they sweet.

Hi Leigh, Thanks! I am thinking I will enjoy those boxes as it hurts my lower back to bend over a lot. Looking forward to when I can start gardening! Nancy

Hi Nancy! Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your great-granddaughter! I love her name! The cupcakes were adorable! Love the theme for it and the nursery! You look nice in the picture with your granddaughter. The quilt on the bed is beautiful! You are so talented and patient to be able to make a quilt! I don't know about the self-watering box. I think you will like it, though. Thanks for sharing! Have a great week! Blessings from Bama!

I have never heard of a self-watering planter box; you'll have to let us all know how that will work out.

Yummy looking cupcakes. Make me hungry.

Hi Nancy, Finally a chance to catch up and comment. I have a couple of self watering hanging pots. They are wonderful. I only have to water once a week instead of every day. I think you will really enjoy yours. Congratulations to you and to your granddaughter on becoming a new mother. I am loving being a new grandmother to my first.

Oh quilting too, I love to collect fabric, so I have to quilt. I suppose that is all backwards. I love fabric shops and patterns. Its the putting it all together that becomes the issue. I just made a bunch of lap quilts and my friend will put them together on her long arm quilting machine. After those are done I may try tying a few myself.
Anyway. I am looking through your blog and I think I will follow you. I have 4 blogs myself. I suppose it would have made more sense to put everything in one place but I didn't.

Hi Janice Kay Schaub, I love fabric but like easy patterns. My Mom tied all her quilts. I do both ways. Thanks. Nancy
