Keeping busy

This geranium was so pretty this summer.  I think I will take it in the garage when it gets cold, give it water once in awhile and hope for the best!!

I saved my allowance and what did I spend it on?? Not clothes but another 2x8 raised gardening bed for next year!!!!!!!!!

Our great granddaughter, Nora, is six months old now!  She is growing up way too fast!  We think she is so precious!

Thought it time I got busy and put out a few fall things in the house!  Almost the end of October already!

Added this fall table runner again to the antique sewing cabinet.  I think I might be getting a wee bit lazy when it comes to decorating for the seasons!

Does anyone else do this?  I cut any extra cherry or sungold tomatoes in two and freeze them.  When I make our salads I get out a couple and add.  They thaw quickly and add a little color to the salad and a wee bit of nutrition.

I made two more crocheted fold over pot holders.  Two more sets done with knit dish cloths now.

And this is the second set!  So little time and so little energy!  Anyone else with that problem??

I made up a couple more of these mug rugs for presents.  If you don't know what a mug rug is, just look at the next picture!  This one is about 9x11 1/2 inches.

What a mug rug is!!

I made up this gluten free cheesy biscuit mix with herbs from Aldi's.  I am not too fond of it but when I am hungry I will eat them!!

Cali and Gracie are helping us babysit my friend's two furbabies for a few days!  Thanks for reading!  I will visit with you again some other time!  Almost time to feed our Coco furbaby!

Hi Nancy, Your great-granddaughter is adorable. They do grow up fast don't they? My little granddaughter is already 9 1/2 months old. I think those mug rugs are a neat idea and very practical.

How nice you got another 'greenhouse'.
Lots of pretties in your decorations and your little mug rugs.
The grandkids are all so sweet.
Have a great week.

Hi Gloriade, Thanks! Babies are so sweet! I know you must really enjoy your little granddaughter also! Have you made any mug rugs? That pattern is my first to do. Nancy

Hi Cheryl, Thank you! My new raised bed is not a greenhouse but thinking eventually a cold frame cover. Nancy

I certainly don't think you are even a wee bit lazy. You make such pretty things, and get a lot done. Your great-granddaughter is adorable!

I did not know what a mug rug was... thought it was just another name for a coaster. Now I know better.
Nora is so sweet. And I like your Fall table runner.

Your geranium is gorgeous! We used to save them over winter for a few years until they got older and no longer as nice. Hope yours will survive the winter.

Blessings~

Hi Henny Penny, Thank you! Grandchildren are special, aren't they! Doesn't seem like I get much done as the pictures are spread over several days. Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold, Thank you! I am glad that I could give you the information on the mug rugs. I think they are kind of cute. Nancy

How fun! All of your pretty crafts. The dishcloths and hot pads turned out great and I love your mug rug too. The additional raised bed will be a huge help in the spring. I think you get lots of things done. More than so do! Your sweet little great granddaughter is so cute. They grow so fast don't they? Have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Betsy

Great choice on the garden bed - that's what I would have spent the extra money on! I pick garden shopping over clothes shopping any day of the week. Love the Mug Rug - I'd never heard of that before...lucky recipients!

I had a similar pink geranium last year, and brought it into the Sunroom for the Winter. It was fine , and went out again this Summer.

He Betsy, Thanks for all your encouragement. I didn't check to see when I last posted on my blog but it took several days to accomplish these things! I know you really enjoy your grandchildren also. I am always trying to think of ways to grow more but that one more raised bed will help a little! Nancy

Hi Margaret, It is great to know someone else that would rather spend their money on gardening than on clothes! You can only wear one pair of jeans at a time! Nancy

Hi Elizabethd, Here is hoping my geranium lives through the winter I think I will try bringing a couple more pots of them also. I did have success with a couple last year in the rental, one looked better than the other. Nancy

Congrats on the raised bed acquisition!! :) I would have spent my allowance on that too lol! :) The potholders are really cute! I've put whole tomatoes in the freezer when I'm too busy to even think of doing anything else with them...they turn out pretty soggy though!

Hi Rain, Thanks! I am glad you agree with the way I spend my allowance! Still working on more pot holders! Nancy

Hi Debbie - Mountain Mama, Thanks! Don't all gardeners stay busy!! Nancy

I think I would rather buy raised garden beds than clothes any day the same as you did Nancy :-) Much more rewarding. Your wee Nora is a darling! Yes I freeze my extra tomatoes also & use throughout the year. Your mug rugs are gorgeous as are your dishcloths. Happy Week to you Nancy Xx

Hi Julie, Thanks!Great to find another person that likes gardening beds better than spending money on clothes! Busy week with appointments. Hope your week was nice! Nancy

Babies, biscuits, and grands all look great! I like your idea of crocheting some dishcloths. I need to do that too. I've decided I don't like the microfiber ones, After awhile they start to smell funny and the odor won't wash out. Cotton is so much better.

Hi Leigh, Thank you! My dish cloths are knit and the pot holders crocheted. There are patterns out there for crochet dish cloths though. Enjoy doing either one! Nancy

Those are very cute fur babies! Your pot holders and dish cloths look great! Well done! Yes, I have more ideas than energy to make them happen, but it IS fun to think about all the things there are to do. I'm thankful for that!

Hi Pom Pom, Yes, the fur babies I took care of are cute but also wore me out! I hope you get to do some of the things that you think about! Nancy

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
