July 8th 2018

Our new solar bird bath!  We enjoy it more than the birds!  We can't have a regular bird bath here.  Rules!  It has to be moving water because of mosquitoes.

It lived!  I stuck this plant in the garage from last year and it came back so pretty!  I am amazed!

I am the luckiest Nana!  Our granddaughter who just turned 11 today made this dessert gluten free so that I could eat some!  She did it by herself!

I have am harvesting more sungold tomatoes now.  Love my plant on the front porch.  I don't have to cage it so Coco doesn't eat it!

Finished a blue and white flannel baby blanket for the gift closet.

Finished another dish cloth and pot holder set.  This one is a little smaller.  I must have miscounted or something!  I like the little larger ones better that I had made.

Harvested my first few yard long beans.  They look like little snakes!

Oh, how I wish all my strawberries from my little 4x4 foot raised bed were this nice!

Guess who got a new 24 inch bike for her birthday!!  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great week!!

The Geranium that made it through the winter and is now full of blooms is amazing!! So is the cake your granddaughter baked. She's a cutie.
I hope she has lots of fun with her new bike.

Hi Cheryl Kimbley, Thanks! I hope the birds and hummingbirds like the bird bath. I sure enjoy it. I thought it was thoughtful of Gracie to do the gluten free dessert for me. Have a good week! Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks! I can't believe the geranium made it through the winter and developed so pretty again. I am going to try to save a few this winter also. I think I realized today that I worry about Gracie riding her bike more than I did my own kids!! Have a good week! Nancy

Gosh that birthday cake looks amazing Nancy. As does your geranium! And those strawberries .... my goodness. How wonderful to see the sunshine as we are battling the most awful storm here today but at least its good crafting weather.

Nice birdbath! The mosquitoes are awful this year so it is nice that the water is moving. So nice of your granddaughter to make a gluten-free cake for you. I hope you enjoyed it! My Shug and I got our bikes out yesterday!

How pretty your bird bath is, I hope the birds appreciate it? Your tomatoes are ahead of mine which are still green.

Hi Nancy, Your granddaughter is such a sweetheart, that was such a sweet thing to do for you, I know it touched your heart as well as satisfied your tummy :) Is your garage heated? How did you store that plant so that it lived and did you have to keep it watered during the winter or does it just go dormant? Some years Geraniums are the only plant that I spend money on. It would be nice to carry them over each year.
Have a sweet day, dear friend.
Connie :)

Hi Julie, Thanks! I am going to try to save more geraniums this year. I wish all my strawberries were nice and big! I am thinking the ones in the middle of the bed might not be getting enough sunlight. I am glad you share all your beautiful creations on your blog! Thank you. Have a good week! Nancy

Hi Bee Lady, So far I have seen one bird drinking from the solar fountain. We enjoy looking at it but sure hope more birds come to enjoy it! Lucky you to still be able to bike ride. I had a couple of real bad falls so decided I was not going to try for the third so we sold our bikes. Have a good week! Nancy

Hi Elizabethd, Thank you! So far I have only seen one bird drinking from it but hope more come. We enjoy it anyway! My tomatoes are just starting to ripen. I still have lots of green ones also. Have a good week! Nancy

Hi Connie, I overwintered the geranium in the garage on Bob's work bench! ha. It gets quite cold out there so I didn't know if it would make it. I did cut it back a little taking off the dead stuff before overwintering. I dumped water on them a few times only. What can you lose by trying! Enjoy your summer! Nancy

Hi Creations by Cindy, Thank you. I am glad we live close us to them that we can be a part of their lives. I thought it was sweet of her to make the gluten free dessert for me. She loves to bake and cook. Enjoy your grands too! Nancy

Hi barbaradougherty126, Thanks! I can't grow near enough in my little courtyard but it is nice to have a few home grown things and it is good therapy! It is not my birthday. Our granddaughter made the dessert for me because I have to eat gluten free and we were celebrating the 4th of July. Thanks for visiting me. Hope you will visit again! Nancy

Hello Nancy! How sweet of your granddaughter to make you that beautiful cake. That was a lot of work! Your dish cloth and pot holders turned out very nice. It looks like the pot holder has a lightning bolt on it! I like your birdbath too. I forget about the mosquitoes back east. We don’t have many here, but when we were visiting Nebraska last week I sure had my share of bites. I hope you’re having a lovely summer my friend. Blessings, Betsy

Hi Betsy, Thanks! I hope you are having a lovely summer. I am just trying to keep up to everything so have not got much knitting, sewing or crocheting. practicing piano duets to play at the nursing home this month. One hour. That's a lot of duets! Enjoy your trailer! Nancy

Something small and intimate; my family, his family and few of our close friends, outside in a lavish garden with butterflies fluttering around in beautiful cages (even though I'm scared of them), and a violinist playing a heart-wrenching song that sums up how much my soon to be husband, and I's relationship and feelings for each other. I want my dress to be long, and that flows when I walk. Forget looking like a princess on my wedding day, I want to look and feel like a goddess; a Grecian bohemian goddess.

What a sweet granddaughter, making her birthday cake gluten-free so Nana can enjoy a big piece (you may not require a BIG piece, but I would!)
Fun bike! My bike is hanging on hooks upside down in the garage and the other day I told Bill, "It's hard to ride it upside down like that, but I've been doing it anyway." He still hasn't lifted it off the hooks for me.
I love your long beans and your pretty little strawberry! Cool birdbath! I saw that on Instagram!

Hi Pom Pom, Thank you! Good luck getting your bike down and going bike riding.
I love our little solar fountain and yes, it was very sweet of Gracie to think of me! Nancy

Wow - you overwintered the geranium in your garage? How did you do that? Does it get light in there or does it go dormant and you revives in the spring? I want to give that a go! Your birdbath looks amazing! That is on my wish list - exactly like yours...including the solar powered part. No one want's to have to run electrical cords into the backyard!

Hi Margaret, Thanks! I am not an expert on overwintering geraniums. I set it on hubby's workbench and it got a little sun and I trimmed off the dead leaves and maybe cut off a bit. I am hoping I can bring it through another winter also! I love my solar powered bird bath so hope you get one too. You will like it. Nancy

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
