Harvest, Peaches, Parsley, Zuchini & Rose

I am starting to harvest a little more!  It is not a lot but it helps out with meals for just the two of us.  I picked more blackberries and things later in the week.

We bought peaches.  Whew!  They sure were expensive but we will enjoy them this winter with our lunches.  We did up 15 of these containers.

Another cabbage harvested.  I got more out of them than I thought I would!  Sure does make good cole slaw!

My boxes of carrots on the deck do come in handy to pull for the cole slaw!!!

Here is another mixture of things that I picked.  Finally cucumbers!

I planted flat leaf parsley this year and decided to cut some to dry!

Onions drying on the lawn mower in the garage! lol  Not sure what I am doing with growing onions.  I pulled them and left them in the sun to dry for most of the day.  I don't really have a good place to hang them and didn't want them to get rained on so hung them in the garage.  Over the lawn mower, over the ladder, over some lattice and over the bushel basket!  If our car smells like an onion this would probably be why!

And my husband still loves me!  Even after having to weed and hanging onions in his garage!  Wonders will never cease!

Three more zuchinias.  Sometimes they get away from me and get larger than what I like.  Seems like you look at them one minute and almost the next minute they have grown.   This is it for today.  Hope you have enjoyed looking at my little harvest.  We sure do enjoy eating it!!!

Looks like you are doing well. You have to hang those onions where ever you can find room! Lovely rose!

You have a lovely harvest! Plus the peaches look yummy and worth the price. And the rose...it is without price, since it came from the heart!

Hi Shawn Ann, My garden is not doing as well as I would like! But we do enjoy the fresh veggies. Happy you could visit. Come again! Nancy

Hi Nutmeg, Yes, the peaches will be delicious this winter and probably get no cheaper in the stores. It is not my favorite fruit for ease of putting up tho! lol Can't say I didn't grumble! I bought the wrong kind and it was hard getting the pit out! Come again! Nancy

Hi Susan, My daughter's name is Susan also! Yes, fresh produce does perk things up. Too bad we can't grow year round. Thank you for taking the time to visit. Come again. Nancy

It all looks so good. We need to pick some blackberries tomorrow. We dry our onions on our picnic table. Then we store the good ones in our shop and I dry the others in my dehydrator.

Have a wonderful evening.

Hi Cheryl, When you store your onions in the shop do you lay them out single on a cardboard or how do you do it? Thanks for sharing information and visiting! Come again. Nancy

I figure your just making sure that lawnmower actually is put to good use in all the time it is not doing... well... lawn mowing! Nice looking onions by the way. You are also correct that zucchini grow the instant you look away. I am convinced of it.

Hi kitsapFG, That is a good idea since the lawn mower may as well be in use when not mowing the brown lawn!! Do you have a blog? When I click on kitsapFG one does not come up? Thank you for taking the time to visit. Come again! Nancy

Great looking harvest. I'm sure the peaches will be worth every penny you paid for them!!

Hi Stoney Acres, Yes, I am sure the peaches will be worth it this winter but it sure is hard on the pocket book at the time. Have to grin and bear it! Hoping I can expand the variety of things I grow next year! Sure is yummy eating things out of the garden. Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Come again! Nancy

What a nice harvest! I love eating from my garden too. Squash is so easy to get over grown! seems like you blink and theres a baseball bat!

Hi Mary, Yes, eating from one's own garden is so nice. I was feeling badly because I have not been able to keep the garden up as I wanted this year but then I stopped to think of all that I have enjoyed from it! Thanks for stopping by! Nancy

Hi Nancy! I've been catching up on your blog and I'm so sorry to hear about your fall! Your eye looks terrible! I'm sure it will heal nicely, though! Your harvests have been nice, too! I wished my zucchini plant hadn't died! I do have another one coming up, so maybe I'll get some more! Your cabbages have done great! I want to plant some in the fall. Your hubby is so sweet to take care of you and bring in that beautiful rose! Hope your eye feels better soon! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Bama Girl, I am healing nicely. I think I may try to grow cabbage next year after all. We plan to enlarge the garden and my husband will make a cage to go over them to keep the cabbage butterflies out. We sure are enjoying things from the garden. Seems like we are getting just a little each day which is nice for the two of us. Thanks for taking time to visit! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
