Still Harvesting, Brunnera, Minion and Mask

I am still harvesting a little spinach and a small radish.  Why aren't my radishes doing well this year?  Usually the beginning of spring I can grow radishes!

I am thankful for more asparagus!!  Am I harvesting it too short or should I let it grow some?

This Brunnera that a friend's daughter from Michigan gave me as a starter looks so cheery in the spring!  Enough to brighten anyone's day!

More spinach, few greens, couple little more radish and a couple more asparagus in the bottom.

The "littles" brought me this!  Gracie said it was a Minion!  Now what in the world is a Minion??  Is it from a movie?  This Nana never had a Minion when she was little.

This rose that "wonderful gardener" brought me is one of the prettiest!!  Life is a little discouraging now and we can't accomplish much outdoors because I have allergys and oral lichen plantus and he had a toenail removed!  Life will get better!  Who knew growing younger would be so challenging!

"Wonderful Gardener" has sleep apnea.  Here he is learning how to use the mask.

The onions I planted in pots in the driveway are doing well!!

"Wonderful Gardener" will not be too happy about this but I am!  New growth on the Elderberry bush that he scalloped last fall!  What should I do to make it look a little better?

This little clump of violets were in a starter of Shasta Daisy that a friend gave me.  I think they are pretty but if I remember correctly they spread!!  How can I keep it in this nice little clump or can't I????  I am full of questions today for my wonderful gardener friends!!!  Thanks!!

If you have one violet, eventually they will spread. At my first house I just let them go and they really covered the area over time. I find them very pretty though. At this house I'm trying to keep the johnny-jump-ups in check. I love them but they can't have every spot in the garden and they do try. At my last house I had trouble keeping them going. I wanted a few more.

Hi Nancy! What pretty spinach! My seeds just don't seem to want to germinate. I guess I should have planted it in colder weather. Now we're in the eighties! I'm sorry I can't answer your questions. Hope fully someone who knows will answer soon! Sounds like Daphne knows about violets. Yes, the minion is from a movie. The rose is lovely! How thoughtful! Sorry about the hubs having sleep apnea. My hubs does too but won't go get one of those things. Have a great week! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Daphne, I guess I had better dig my violets up then. I do love the Johnny Jump Ups better. They have such sweet and happy faces. I bought some last year but I haven't seen any popping up this year. Guess I will have to buy more! Nancy

Hi Felecia, I thought maybe a Minion was from a movie! Thanks. I bugged wonderful gardener to get tested. I think once he is use to the mask it will help him. He was stopping breathing during the night and that was scary for me. Nancy

that's a great drawing of a minion:) that mask looks uncomfortable, but, my father in law doesn't have a problem with his and it really helps him:)

Your garden appears to be doing well this spring!
Glad your elderberry is coming back! Healthy stuff! I used elderberry syrup over the winter to keep the flu away, my kids loved it.
Ahh, those little minions! From the movie Despicable Me, my kids love those movies! Very cute. You need to have family movie night with your littles and watch it with them! ;)

Hi lynn, Sounds like you are more up to date than I am and knew what a Minion was! LOL I hope hubby's mask helps him too! Nancy

Hi Shawn Ann, Yes, I do need to have movie night and watch the movies with the kids. But they will have to be still and long enough for me to concentrate! LOL Did you get your elderberry syrup recipe off the internet? I was drinking elderberry/whatever tea but then I got oral lichen plantus anyway! Nancy

Shawn Ann, That should read elderberry flower and green tea or whatever. Nancy

The violets do spread; I just let them go because I think they are pretty and usually die back by the time the grass gets bigger. But, come to think of it, mine must be different than yours since mine have heart-shaped leaves. I think they are a wild variety.

Hi lil red hen, Thanks for your input on the violets. When I can get the chance I am going to try to dig them out. Hot and humid here today! Nancy

Lovely harvests! My radishes aren't growing well either. Our spring started really cool and wet then it suddenly went to hot and the radishes are bolting.

Hi Julie, We have not had warm weather until now and we had a late spring so don't know what the problem is with the radishes! Something is nibbling the top too. Maybe I didn't hold my mouth right when I planted them! LOL Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
