Misc. post for Oct. 27th!

There is not much to brag about from the garden this post!  I think the raspberries have petered out!  We will be using them out of the freezer now plus eating the yummy raspberry freezer jam!

A miscellaneous harvest from the garden one day.  Small kale on the left and parsley on the right.  Couple lettuce leaves.

I love the color of the little blueberry bushes this time of year!

Please, open that door!  The "princess" is waiting for her mother to let her out!

Chicken pot pie ready to pop in the oven.  I am trying to be healthier so made the crust out of coconut oil.

I sewed up this Barbie doll sleeping bag and pillow.  What talent!!! LOL

That chicken pot pie sure looks good! Haven't had one in ages but it is one of my favourite uses for leftover chicken.

Super cute sleeping bag. I made a bunch of Barbie clothes for my daughter a couple of years ago for her birthday - I'm not a great sewer but it was still lots of fun; I especially loved working with so many pretty fabrics.

Hi Margaret, Thanks. I would like to make up a few more Barbie clothes but they are so tiny for me to work with. Do you have any ideas for a couple really simple ones? Nancy

My favourite site for Barbie clothes gave had a super easy Barbie skirt tutorial with several variations - http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/2010/09/easy-barbie-skirt-tutorial.html - They turned out really well and you can see how one design with just a little change here and there & different fabric can make the skirt look totally different. Then you can match it up with an easy cap sleeve top: http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/2010/09/barbie-cap-sleeve-shirt-tutorial.html. Again easy and super cute!

Hi Nancy! I bet the raspberry jam is delicious! I guess it's time to focus on sewing and crafting, since the season is changing! I look forward to see what you have to share with us in the future! The sleeping bag is too cute! Blessings from Bama!

Sadly I'm buying frozen berries for my smoothies. I wish I could grow enough.

Hi again Margaaret, Thanks for the sites for the Barbie clothes. I am hoping to do a few! Nancy

Hi Felecia, You bet the raspberry jam is super delicious! I am glad I had enough berries to do a batch. I am not a great sewer and don't have a lot of patience but time to turn my thoughts towards things like that for the winter! Nancy

Hi Daphne, I am happy that we have enough raspberries to freeze but I do have to buy blueberries and strawberries. We have just a small strawberry patch and a couple small blueberry bushes. Nancy

Your harvest(s) always amazes me! My grandmother made many of my Barbie doll clothes when I was a little girl.... and I still have them. One day they will be passed down to my two 'girls' - who are all grown up now, but remember playing with the clothes when they were little too. The handmade clothes seem to hold together, and last much longer than the store-bought Barbie clothes. Enjoyed catching up on all the posts I missed while out of town!

Hi lynn, Thanks. Why do dogs think they have to go in and out so much!!! Sometimes Coco just sits at the door and I never know if she is just looking or needs to go out! Bet your little Bailey is a lot of compnay! Nancy

Hi Lisa, Good to hear from you again. Hope you had a nice time. I think most Barbie Dolls are too small for my patience to make! Thought I could handle these sleeping bags though! Nancy

Hello!!! I am Linda from Linda's Life Journal and just signed up to get your posts! Thank you for the kind comment on Susan's blog. Now I want you to know I am NOT a real true 'quilter!' More of a crafter and a 'close is good enough' kind of sewer! I have a sister in law whos is an artist with a needle - I am an artist with a paint brush only!
Looking forward to getting to know you!!
