Spinach & Kale, Eggs, Me & Coco

Spinach was harvested again and a little Kale but there are a lot of things growing now.  Asparagus is starting and it won't be long and there will be other things hopefully!

Organic eggs across the street and down about a block!!  A couple of them are light green.  If "wonderful gardener" won't let me have chickens this is the next best thing!!!!!!

I did not improve my appearance by falling on my bike for the second time.  The first time on the gravel and this time on the cement.  I may be a slow learner but I don't care to try for three times so the bikes are for sale!!!!!!  "Wonderful Gardener" also is a "wonderful nurse".  Got his hankie out and wiped up the blood and after we got home he put some antibiotic salve on my injuries.  Thankful for "wonderful gardener, wonderful nurse and wonderful historian".  Notice what I listed last!  LOL  What can I say!!!

This is my strawberry bed!  I put some liquid fish emulsion on and Coco must like it!  The cover is now on!  I guess the cover keeps the bees from pollinating the flowers.  I think the wind did it last year but wonder if I would harvest more berries if the bees could get to them.  I will be bugging "wonderful gardener" to build me a raised bed on legs.  That way my little critter won't be able to get in and the bees can do their thing!

Oh, that was an awful fall! I hope you are doing ok. I'm terribly clumsy on a bicycle as well.

Hi Phuong, Welcome!!! Thanks for sharing. I am glad I am not the only one that is clumsy on a bike! LOL Nancy

Hi Nancy! That fall must have been terrible! I'm so sorry it happened, sweet lady! I hope your injuries heal quickly! Maybe just do like I do and stick to walking! It's the best overall exercise! And the safest, if you in a good neighborhood. So glad your wonderful hubby was there to take care of you! Sounds like Spring is kicking into action with all the wonderful veggies! I hope the strawberries get pollinated this year! Poison ivey has taken over mine, so I won't be picking any strawberries or cleaning out the bed! I'll just go to the u-pick farm instead! The eggs are so pretty! I have some green egg layers as well! I think I'll add a white egg or cream egg layer soon. Hope you have a lovely week! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Felecia, Thanks for the sympathy! I do live in a nice neighborhood so will have to walk, garden or go to Silver Sneakers I guess! Lucky you to have your own eggs! So neat to see all the different colored eggs. Nancy

Hi Audrey, Thanks! I don't think I broke my nose but I sure have a sore face, hand, knee and shoulder! I think I will have my husband build a raised strawberry bed on legs for next year. Won't be so hard on the back and Coco won't be able to get into it! Nancy

Oh, Nancy, that was some fall! Ouch! Then Coco, how funny! I'm excited to have kale finally coming up, and enough lettuce to harvest now, yay!

Hi Daphne, Thanks! I love being to walk a block or so and get my eggs. The yokes are so golden! Nancy

Hi Leigh, Glad you are getting to see some kale growing. I think your lettuce is ahead of mine. Some I planted last fall in the cold frame I think I can start using although not as large as I would like it to be. I might be desperate though!! Nancy

Oh, my, that was a terrible fall you had. I hope it is healing up nicely. Your spinach and kale look so delicious and nutritious. :) The eggs look great. I do love our fresh chicken eggs.

Have a great week

How nice to be having fresh vegetables already! We've barely been able to plant a few things because of so much rain.

Accidents happen so quickly! This looks like a bad boo-boo.

Hi Vicki, Thanks! Fresh chicken eggs are so good! I can't get over how yellow the yolks are compared to store bought! Nancy

Oh my, I'm so glad you had such a "wonderful nurse" to take care of you! Hope you are feeling better now. Looks like you are just like me when it comes to riding a bike - having grown up in a condo, I didn't have a bike until I was in my early 20's and never quite got the hang of it.

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
