Summer has finally arrived!

At last!  Summer like weather and the chives are in bloom!

The first Iris to bloom!  These came from a friend in VA years ago.

New bushes planted!  Green Gem Boxwood.  I hope they do well.  I am trying for the cottage look!

I bought a hummingbird feeder and put it out today.  I saw a tiny hummingbird drinking from it this afternoon.  He has not come back but I am hoping he will and tell all his friends to come.  The feeder is in the sun.  Will that be okay?

Our kids living near us had work day here Saturday.  Here Sue is painting my garden gate.  She also washed my windows.

Melissa is washing the house down.

Cali is weeding around the tree.  She also had a big event this week and graduated from Kindergarten!

Craig and Mike planting the bushes.

Gracie cutting the grass off between the board and the fence.

Grandson Travis digging out some grass for me.  I am so thankful to have all this done!  Thanks for visiting.  I enjoy any comments you might like to write.

You are one lucky lady having family to help out with those yard chores.

I'd move that hummingbird feeder to some shade if you have hot summers. We find ourselves changing the nectar twice a week even in the shade.....it "turns" funny and cloudy and I can imagine hot nectar isn't refreshing.
Have a great week

Your garden looks so gorgeous! And your first hummer already - that's fantastic! There will be many more, no doubt! Can you send that wonderful work crew my way for a few days? I could sure use them!

I have that same yellow and Burgundy Iris!
What a great idea... having a work day. A lot can get done with so many helpers.
Have a wonderful week!!

What a nice family you have to come and help out like that. I love the cottage garden look too. The little box woods are so pretty...it looks like a little cottage there.

Lucky you to have such an awesome "work crew"! The recent summer weather has really put the garden in high gear, hasn't it? It was a long time coming, which makes it that much more appreciated :)

Just popping in to say "hello". My chive plants have buds but haven't yet opened. I supposed because we've had several gray days and rain and fog... I'll look at it as extending the spring season, which is my favorite time of year anyway, ha ha. My parents have a hummingbird feeder that is in full sun and it can get pretty hopping around it sometimes. Right now we have only seen two at a time there so far. They also have a rose bush next to it and the hummingbirds can frequently be seen resting there, too.

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
