Coco, flowers and veggies

I think the clematis is so pretty this year but towards the top there are no flowers.  Why is that?

Color in the flower bed looking good!

I have picked lavendar a couple of times and will probably pick more if I have the time!

Scarlet Runner Beans doing well!

Oh, oh!  See the leaves on the deck?  Some critter got into my scarlet runner beans!

I believe this critter is guilty!!  I think the leaf stuck to her ear is enough evidence!!

I have stopped cutting asparagus to eat but have eaten a couple sugar peas from the garden.  Yum!  Thank you for visiting!  Happy Gardening!

Your flowers are so beautiful. We have many of the same things blooming right now, but I am nowhere near having peas yet. You're lucky!!!
Enjoy

Your flowers have grown and are so pretty! That is so funny about Coco. Those bean leaves stick, don't they. I always wait too late to plant sugar peas and I love them. Maybe next year.

Hi Sue, Thanks! I love pink flowers but I seem to have ended up with a lot of yellow and purple/lavendar! My sugar peas are just starting so maybe yours won't be long behind! Nancy

Hi Henny Penny, Thank you! Coco could not deny getting into my beans! I love fresh sugar peas so be sure to grow them next year! Nancy

Your clematis is beautiful, such a pretty color. My yard is a mess this year but I am retiring soon and perhaps I will be able to whip it into shape then, or perhaps not. I like to garden a little but it's not exactly a passion. :) I am more of a "Let's see what's going on at the farmer's market kind of a gal. Either way, with a 3/4 acre lot and less energy than I used to have it's not going to be perfect.

Hi Gloriade, Thank you! I love it. Gardening is about the enjoyment too so when you retire just do what you enjoy! We will probably be selling and downsizing the yard soon. Hubby can't do work outside using a cane for balance with his neuropathy and I don't have as much energy since I contacted chronic lyme disease. We do love our house and love it here though. Nancy

I can't believe that sweet little pup attacked your runner beans - that's so funny! My pups don't mess with my gardens at all. I know many dogs love to dig in the gardens, they don't even really do that....unless the little one is trying to bury something like a cookie or her ball! She tries to hide it from my old girl, Lily - what a meanie!

Hi Mountain Mama, Don't let that sweet puppy look fool you! But we love her anyway! You are lucky that your dogs do not eat your veggies!! Coco love most all veggies and fruits! She eats the lower berries on the raspberry bushes and has learned how to jump up and put down branches so she can get some she can't reach! Nancy

I love Scarlet Runner Beans! They grow fantastic! We grew them on our rooftop and the plants took off and grew 10 feet tall! They really are super beautiful.

Hi Pamela@Brooklyn Farm Girl, So glad to have you visit. Hope you will come back again! I am not sure how many scarlet runner beans i will end up with if Miss Coco does not leave them along! I was hoping for the pretty flowers climbing up the pergola! Nancy

I have the opposite "problem" with some of my Clematis. They have flowers up high but none on the bottom 2 feet or so. Maybe I'm trimming them down wrong.
I'd love to cut some of my lavender too but when I get out there with my scissors there are swarms of bees all over them.

Oh, Coco with the tell-tale leaf...hilarious! And yet another blogger eating peas...I'm can't wait until it's my turn!

Hi Granny Marigold, I guess our Clematis have minds of their own! The flowers are sure pretty though! Sorry you can't cut your lavendar because of the bees but at least they pollinate things for you! Nancy

Hi Margaret, It won't be long before you will be eating sugar peas too! Coco is a pest for sure! Nancy

Good morning Nancy. Oh, your clematis is beautiful. I need to plant one here. I did have a couple at the old place. Well, I'm off to the garden to pick peas. We have eaten two batches so far in the past week. They are coming on wonderfully :) Happy week to you!
