August 16th

I have some very organized friends that love to organize.  That is not one of my skills!!  I love putting things in jars and found these pretty labels on the Strangers and Pilgrims blog.  "Wonderful Gardener" made them up for me and now I have the jars on the floor of my pantry looking so nice and easy to find.

Here you can see a close up of one.

Two more beautiful peppers from my one pepper plant.  There are two more small ones and that is it for this year.

My friend and I are getting together to play piano duets.  We are having so much fun doing this!

I dug out a little raspberry runner from around my bushes and planted it in this pail.  Hoping it will grow!

Our friends went out of town and said we could pick from their garden.  This is what we were blessed to come home with!

Here is "Wonderful Gardener" helping me make tomato juice from some of those tomatoes sputtering all the time saying he would just buy his tomato juice and there must be an easier way to do this!!

Our granddaughter from VA is in town for the week so we are enjoying her.  I had bought quite a bit of organic white flour before I found out I had to go gluten free so ask her if she would make up chocolate chip cookies for her Papa.  They turned out really well except for the last pan I forgot and left in the oven a little too long!!  Oops!  They weren't burnt but just a little too brown!

We are enjoying our great granddaughter Nora!

What a sweetheart little Nora is!!

Our Gracie is growing up so fast!  She can't wait to be old enough to babysit!!  Would you please leave a comment so I will know that you have visited and have a great rest of the week!

Little Nora IS very cute! Aw!
Everyone seems to be harvesting and putting food by. It isn't for wimps, is it?

Glad your flour got used up and that you had a willing granddaughter. That baby is just darling!!! We finally have some grandgirls that are old enough to babysit---but they are so busy they don't have time to do it. lol

This was a wonderful post and I love those labels on your jars. xo Diana

Just look at that beautiful smile on Nora. And Gracie looks so happy to be holding her. I'm so glad you got to have a nice visit with your granddaughter. Those moments are so precious. I'm sure that the cookies were enjoyed and that she enjoyed making them for her Papa. Those labels are beautiful. I may have to check them out. Have a lovely day my friend.
Blessings always, Betsy

Looks like a good time.
How nice on your jars all pretty and labeled.

Our bell peppers have done crazy well this year. But 4 is better than none!
Have a good one.

Hi Pom Pom, Thank you! No harvesting and putting up food is not for wimps. I have slacked off (shame, shame) and the tomato juice will be frozen! Nancy

Hi Creations from Cindy, Thank you for leaving a comment! I brought two raspberry bushes from our previous house in 5 gallon buckets. They looked like they were doing so well and I planted them in the ground and they did hardly anything this year so planning to leave one in a pail next summer to see how it does! Nancy

What adorable greatgrands you have!! What is sweeter than a baby's smile??
The pic with your hubby making tomato juice reminded me that I used to have one of those doodads to mash the tomatoes through. Gave it away once the kids all grew up though. Along with the pressure cooker and the big canner!
I hope your little raspberry runner thrives.
I love the cute labels that you put on your pantry supplies. Talented husband you have.

I found your blog through Annabel's. I'm looking forward to getting to know you! Your granddaughter and great-granddaughter are adorable!

I play piano too, why did I never think to invite a friend over to play duets! Great idea!

Hi NanaDiana, Thank you! I am happy to hear you enjoyed the post. Isn't that the truth that when girls get old enough to babysit they have lots of other interests! My organic flour is not used up yet. If Emily has any down time guess what I will suggest! LOL Nancy

Hi Betsy, Thanks! I hope you do get to check out the labels. I just love that Bluebird site and Strangers and Pilgrims as they suggest so many neat things. Thanks for your help on the potholder! I hope to get back to it soon! Nancy

Hi Cheryl, Thanks! I did get a couple other bell peppers off that plant previously. We are not big pepper eaters so this will be just the right amount! We can't help but think the baby is adorable even if we are prejudice! Love family time! Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks! Nothing sweeter than a baby's smile and holding them! Love being with family. I never had a pressure cooker. I do have a water bath canner but I am afraid I haven't used it yet this year! Nancy

Doesn't it just figure. When you stock up on something you can't use it :( I too have to be gluten free as I have celiac and also collagenous colitis so I have to watch my fiber and sugar intake. Glad you are having a good visit with your family members. Nannie

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Nannie, Thank you for your nice comment! Gluten free is bad enough. Glad I don't have to be sugar free! At least not yet! Hope you will visit again! Do you have a blog? Nancy
