Oct. 3rd

I did get the apple donuts made up for "Wonderful Gardener"!  In fact I made two batches!  As you can see they are not donuts but more like apple muffins rolled in cinnamon and sugar.  He is really enjoying them!

It is so nice to still be picking a few strawberries for our morning oatmeal!  Won't be long now and the winter weather will be here!  Ugh!

We keep finding these tiny greenish balls all over our house.  They seem to appear out of nowhere!  Are they spider eggs or does anyone know what they are???????

We got our lumpy applesauce all done so dehydrated a few apple slices out of some left over apples.

Made up three batches of freezer coleslaw.  Here are just three of the containers.  Not sure if I will do another batch or not.

Does anyone else do this?  These are bread bags rolled onto an empty cardboard paper towel holder.  I use them to double bag my bread I buy for the freezer and also to put my cooked hamburg in.  Then I put the cooked hamburg in the bread bag inside a ziploc bag and pop into the freezer.  That way it keeps my ziploc bag nice and clean to reuse and I then throw the used bread bag away after freezing the hamburg.  I call myself thrifty!  Some other people may call me something else!  LOL

I made up my all natural lotion bars yesterday.  I am waiting for them to finish hardening so that I can pop them out of the container.  They are all natural made out of shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax.  Just rub them on your skin.  Not much going on in my garden right now.  Hope you have a wonderful rest of week!!

Those look like marbles to me!
The donuts look yummy.

Hi Debbie - Mountain Mama, Glad to be of help! I use to just put them in a drawer but that was messy so came up with the paper towel roll to put them on. Nancy

Hi Cheryl Kimbley, Thank on the donuts! No, not marbles. They are much smaller than marbles and soft. Nancy

That soap sounds wonderful.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Betty, Sorry, it is not soap but a lotion bar like hand cream only in a bar you rub on. Easy to make! Nancy

The tiny greenish balls certainly are a mystery. Have you tried squishing them?
I have the same dehydrator as you have. I've put mine away now but I used it for apples in summer.
I confess I keep my empty bread bags in another bigger bag but your way is much neater.

Looks like the marvel monster! I love the bread bag idea! Dang those donuts look good! Thanks for sharing today. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

I think the green balls are from a container of deodorizer. What do they smell like? My guess.

I do save bread bags and use them for coating chicken or pork chops with flour before frying. It's not as messy as rolling each piece in a pan of flour, like mama used to do. I like the idea of keeping them on an empty paper towel roll, and to keep meat in to keep the freezer bag clean. That is a good idea! Those apple donuts look delicious!!

Hi Granny Marigold, No, I have not tried squishing the tiny balls. They are soft. Besides apples, this year I used the dehydrator for strawberries and really like those to put on my oatmeal. I would like to try dehydrating pineapple from a can. Nancy

Hi Creations by Cindy, I hope the bread bag idea helps you. My husband and almost everyone else loves the apple donuts. Nancy

Hi Wykeham Observer, The tiny balls can't be from a container of deodorizer as we have none in the house. I never thought about smelling them. Will have to the next time one appears. Thanks. Nancy

Hi Henny Penny, More good ideas to do with the bags. It is neater for me to keep them on the cardboard roller. Hubby thinks the donuts are pretty delicious! Nancy

Hi Linda @ Life and Linda, Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. Could it be that I am just getting old and slowing down so I sound busy! LOL Nancy

The apple donuts look delicious! I would call them giant donut holes ;) Those greenish balls actually look like Orbeez to me - they are teeny, tiny balls that you put in water and they swell to many times their original size. They are mainly a kids thing - perhaps your grandchildren brought something with Orbeez in them the last time they were at your house? They bounce - like crazy! - so if you can bounce one of them, that's likely what they are.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Margaret, Thanks! I doubt if the greenish balls are from the grandkids but who knows! Next time we find one I will put it in water and see what happens and also see if it bounces! Nancy

Actually, the balls already look as if they are hydrated - take a look at this link which shows what Orbeez balls look like (see image under #4): http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Orbeez

Hi Margaret, Thanks. I ask the girls Dd if they ever had Orbeez balls and he didn't think so. When one shows up again I will see if it bounces and if it dissolves or does anything in water. Nancy

You have been a busy bee! All your treats look yummy. I have been moving pretty slowly this past couple of weeks but I did manage to dehydrate a few apples one day. Hope to bake a couple of loaves of apple bread for the freezer this week. I really like making moisture bars and yours look great. They make such nice gifts too.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Gloriade, Thanks! Glad you got to dehydrate some apples. Hubby is not too fond of sweet breads so didn't do any apple bread but it sounds yummy to me. Do you make your lotion bars from the same recipe? Nancy

Gloria said...

Pretty close I think, shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax. I love it.

Hi Nancy :) Nice donuts!!! They look yummy! Oh I really like your bag idea...for poop bags lol...we go through a LOT these days and I can't find a way to organize them pre-scooping! :) That's a mystery about those little globes.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Rain, Thanks! Hubby loves those apple donuts (muffins). I have used grocery bags a lot to pick up the doggie do but I do have some boughten ones as when we were renting we didn't have enough grocery bags. Hope you can get yours organized! Nancy

You've been busy! Very curious about the little green balls. They don't look like eggs. I don't have a clue!

I like the idea of the cinnamon sugar on donuts, muffins, anything!

Do you have a recipe for the lotion bars anywhere? Sounds like a really nice product to make.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

H Leigh, Doesn't take much to keep us old people busy! LOL Here is where thee recipe for the lotion bar is. You are probably familiar with Melissa K. Norris. Nancy https://www.facebook.com/melissaknorris/videos/1570059079677280/

Hello Nancy, You sure do keep busy! I love reading about all you get up to over there :-) Your natural lotion bars look wonderful - that would definately be a recipe I would be keen to try to make up. Hope you have a wonderful rest of week too Nancy.

Hi Julie, I don't think I am as busy as you! At least I don't seem to accomplish as much! Would you like that site that I got the lotion bar recipe from? I would be happy to share! Nancy
