Sunshine today! Woo hoo!

It is 2 p.m. and 44 degrees!  I was very happy to see my Iris I planted last year is peaking through.  Also my chives in a pot are growing from last year.  Didn't know if they would come back in a pot.  Maybe nice weather will get here before long.  At least I can hope!

I am buying green beans for my dog!  Anyone else do this?   My green beans did not grow well last year so am hoping for better results this year.  Hate spending my money buying green beans for Coco!

We celebrated Papa"s 78th birthday!  It is always nice to have the help of grandkids and now Nora, the great grandkid!  I love it when all the family gets together.  13 of us
here but we miss the kids from the east coast!

What happened to the simpler days when I just pushed a button and the TV came on!  Now there are three different remotes for the same TV.  Blows my mind so "wonderful gardener" ran this helpful picture off for me of the main remote!  I think I was born in the wrong century.

Muffins made from Bob's Red Mill muffin mix.  Too sweet!  When I could bake with regular flour I was cutting down on the sugar so got use to eating less sugar.

I discovered a new tea I really enjoy.  Licorice Spice!  Try it, you'll love it!

A pot of homade vegetable soup gets more veggies down us!

I have a curtain rod above my craft counter and it is a great place to hang these strips while waiting to be sewn together.

A new cart to store some of my card making supplies!  If I am not careful I will be as organized as some of my " super organized friends"!  I won't mention names but three of them begin with  P, with a C and one begins with a K.  LOL

"Wonderful Gardener" has many talents!  He cut up cardboard for me to wrap my material on to go neatly in my baskets.

Last but not least the thermometer in my cold frame read 90 degrees yesterday and the soil is warming up.  Soon I will plant a few seeds and see how they will do.  Have a sunshiny kind of day and it would please me if you could leave a comment!

It seems to be the time for thinking about planting seeds. I have put some sweet peas in today, but they are on my kitchen windowsill, as it is much too cold outside!

It won't be long and we will see all our pretty posies blooming!
Looks like fun was had by all for the birthday party. Neat.
Soup looks yummy.

It's so exciting to see green sprouts coming up. I had a heating pad under some peat pots with Columbine seeds that I sowed. It took a month until they came up. Now I've sowed yellow Cosmos but there's no need for the heating pad for these.
Belated happy birthday to papa. That cake looks gooood.

Hi Elizabethd, Yes, it is probably too cold to think about planting outdoors yet as we are to get more snow and rain this week. Ugh I love sweet peas. So pretty! Happy day! Nancy

Hi Cheryl Kimbley, Thanks! Just listened to the weather report and we are in for more snow. I need more patience! Nancy

Hi Granny Marigold, I think I got excited too soon as just listened to the weather forecast and snow predicted this week. Oh, well it will get here eventually. Columbines are so pretty and delicate looking and I love cosmos! Happy planting! Nancy

Hi Nancy, thats wonderful that you have green shoots popping through. Hopefully your temps will warm up soon. Sounds like you are doing well organising your craft room supplies. Happy Birthday to your dear hubby. Have a lovely week Nancy.

I sympathize with you on the remote. We have two and they confuse me greatly. Sprouts appearing! We have about 12 inches of snow on the ground. I can imagine the fun you’ll have organizing with your new supplies.
Blessings,
Betsy

Oh girl, I know what you mean about the remotes! It is CRAZY! We finally got one of my soninlove's to fix it to where we only have one for TV! But in order to use DVD I have to use 2-3 remotes! No thank you. I will just watch the cooking channel. It's warm here today but I just heard we may be expecting another frost on Friday morning! Florida has crazy weather. Happy birthday to your man. May the Lord bless him with many more wonderful years to celebrate life. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Hi Creations By Cindy, Thanks! I don't watch much TV and when I do hubby usually does the remote which is fine with me. I got excited when the weather was better but now it is cold and expecting snow. Guess we have to expect that in March! Have a great day! Nancy

It's been a busy month for you - jealous of your organization :) And hurray, you have some green peaking out of the soil already! I just laughed at the tv remote "guide" - I feel the same way - half the time I just throw the remote to my husband and tell him what I want to watch ;)

Hi Margaret, I am so slow that every month is busy! LOL I am glad to hear that there are others like me about the remote! Today was colder and we are to get some rain/snow so I am not too happy about that but spring will eventually come! Nancy

Okay, no, I've never bought green beans for a dog, LOL. But Coco is special, so there you have it! I too, find that most mixes are too sweet. Most store bought cakes and cookies are too sweet! I prefer actually tasting the food, not the sugar. The Licorice Spice tea sounds good! And it's nice to see all that help with the birthday candles!

Hi Leigh, Thanks! Hope things are continuing to go well at your homestead. I still have not figured out how to eat gluten free with less sugar unless I make everything from scratch and can't seem to get it all done. Have a good rest of the week! Nancy

That pot of soup looks delish! How special to celebrate a 78th birthday with so many generations... also love the rail for your strips, very handy xx

Hi Joy from Days Filled With Joy, That pot of soup was good and is long gone! I have so many projects started so need to get busy and get some finished up! Glad you could visit! Nancy

Oh I'm jealous of your weather and your iris! But I'm happy for you Nancy :) When I made the dog's food a few years back, green and yellow beans were part of the diet, and I had to buy them in bulk and freeze them. We had to change up the diets to kibble because one of the dogs needed a special vet diet. One day I'd love to get back to feeding them better food though. Speaking of food, yours looks yummy! :) I've had licorice tea before and yes, it is very good!

Hi Rain, Well, I got my hopes up and then we got a little more snow and cold weather! I may eventually try making treats for Coco again but right now it keeps me busy trying to keep me fed gluten free with this fatigue. Thanks for commenting! Nancy

Wow! 90 degrees, is there room for me to climb into that box and warm up, LOL. I know what you mean about the remotes . . . if I ever hit the wrong button, I need help getting it back so that I can watch TV, LOL. Muffins . . . oh my goodness, they are one of my all time favorite foods. These look so good and warm from the oven . . . I'll bring some raspberry jam and be right over (I wish). I love licorice and will have to keep my eye out for this tea.
Have a lovely day . . . wishing you better health and good answers from your doctor.
God bless you,
Connie :)

Hi Connie, If only the weather would warm up outside the cold frame! Wish i could share raspberry jam and a muffin with you! Would be fun! Let me know if you like the licorice spice tea. Thank you for your lovely visit. Nancy

Good afternoon, dear Nancy! It was such a delight to visit you today as it's been too long since I popped in for a visit.

Your licorice tea sounds quite interesting, but I will take your word and try it sometime soon {{smiles}} Thank you for letting us know about it.

And thank you for the lovely visit to my blog. It would be a joy to have you join the tea cup exchange sometime.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend! Hugs!

I am so anxious to plant seeds that I can hardly stand it! I seem to have very good luck with green beans, and I grow them in a pot on my deck. It’s a large pot, and I have a nice trellis for them to climb, and they do quite well. In the extreme heat of summer, the end of July and August, they kind of die off, so I dig them up, turn the dirt over, and wait for a fall planting. I enjoyed this post.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Pom Pom, Thank you! Nice to hear of someone else that feeds their dog green beans! Hope mine grow this year! Nancy
