Food, Trip, Birthday & Coco

We bought a half bushel of apples and made up our lumpy applesauce for the freezer.  We usually buy a bushel or a bushel and a half and can and dehydrate it but couldn't this year.  It will still taste great from the freezer!

Used my energy one day to make up a raspberry pie with raspberries frozen from our yard.  Of course I had to have a sample and it passed the yummy test!

We took a little trip to Nashville Indiana!  What a fun place to visit with all the little shops!  Pretty decorations!

We spent some time in Brownsville, IN State Park.  What a beautiful place in the fall!

Here is another one of the trees.  Love the vibrant color!

Here is one of "wonderful gardener"!  We took a little walk in the park.  Beautiful day!

The artists open up their homes/workshops out in the countryside  during the month of October.  We visited this one with the water mill that they had brought in.  It was way out in the boonies!  Interesting!!!

We came home and helped celebrate our granddaughter Cali's 6th birthday!  She is our youngest grandchild and growing up way too fast.

Coco went to visit Sophia while we were gone.  Here they are flopped out after their walk!  That is what I feel like doing about now!  Have a safe and Happy Halloween!!!!

Just Around!

Picked more raspberries this week.  Probably won't get anymore now.  Had our first frost last night!

The garden is put to bed for the winter.  I didn't know what I was doing when I planted that asparagus.  Now it shades the bed behind it so I can't plant a lot there.  Boo hoo!  I sure do love eating the asparagus in the spring though!

The roses are still giving us some color.  Knock Out roses are the best!!!

We brought the fountain into the garage.  Looks rather bare but ready for winter!  I think the dark mulch must be from my shadow.

This is spearmint and lemon balm (mostly spearmint) growing in a wooden pot by the deck.  I wonder if I should be cutting that back for the winter????

And last but not least this is Coco eating!  She gobbles up her food so fast so I spread it on the floor, some in her dish and some in the muffin tin.  The vet's technician said to put it in the muffin tin to slow her down.  And yes, those are little pieces of chopped carrots along with her food!  If I gave her the whole carrot it would be gone in a few seconds.  This slows her down.  She stands by me and cries while I cut up the carrot.  Guess I am not fast enough.  Am I crazy or is she!  Don't answer!!!!!

My Big Harvest and Things!

My big harvest this week!  LOL

My little harvest this week!!!!!

Freshly made cole slaw from garden cabbage.

Coco harvesting raspberries!

Coco has also learned how to pull the raspberry bush down to pick the raspberries!  Perhaps that is the reason I didn't have a larger harvest!

We celebrated Mike's birthday this week!  Note Gracie's fashion glasses!  She has 20/20 vision!

I love buying new material!  Could that be considered a hobby??  Christmas material was on sale for 40 percent off and I had a 20 percent off coupon plus a $5 off coupon.  Now who could resist that bargain!!!!  I do have projects in mind!

Chugging right along!  Finished knitting two dish cloths!  Does anyone know what that brown thing is on the one dish cloth?  I got it from my Mother and I don't know where she got it from.  She is in Heaven now so I can't ask her.  Till next time.....................

Just Pickin' and a eatin'!

This is the last of my cabbages and it was kind of small!  We will miss our fresh cole slaw!

There are more green tomatoes out there but not sure they will ripen now that the weather has turned cooler.

The last of the beans!!  Coco will have to eat frozen ones!

Not much to pick anymore on the raspberries!  Good while they lasted which has been quite awhile!

My one pepper plant did not give me any peppers all summer!  Now I pick these little ones!  Thankful my friends Ann and Paul gave me a few of theirs for my freezer!

I was all out of pizza sauce so made up some for my pizza casserole and to put some in the freezer for future use.

We are cleaning up out gardening beds.  Well, if truth be known "Wonderful Gardener" is doing most of the work but I make a pretty good supervisor!  Would you believe "Wonderful Gardener" does not like to garden but will do anything for his little wife!  The zinnias and marigold still look pretty and didn't want to take them out yet.  We could get a frost in a couple of weeks though!

I finally finished sewing the middle of this lap quilt together.  Now to try to figure out how I planned to do the borders and binding that I bought quite awhile ago!

Guilty!!!  My hard working helper has to rest once in awhile!  Do you agree?!

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
