I received my new seeds for my little courtyard!  It will be awhile yet though!  I have never tried Amaranth before but it looked pretty and I think the leaves are suppose to taste like spinach.

Sitting in the house looking out at the neighbors roof I thought this roof looked like a quilt!  My husband said "only a quilter would think of that".

This is great granddaughter Nora talking on our antique phone!  Doesn't she look just like a teenager!  Those days will be here before we know it  Can't believe she is this big already!

Another one of her enjoying the snow in our courtyard!  Hmmm!  This is pretty good stuff!  When you don't have toys, a bucket and big spoon works!

Our other little great granddaughter Claire came to visit. So precious.  These little "greats" bring sunshine to our days.  Aren't they just the cutest and sweetest!

My newest adventure is trying to make a gluten free sourdough starter to make gluten free bread!  Wish me luck!!!  So far, so good!

I made this gluten free raspberry crisp and it was yummy.  The raspberries were in my freezer.  My friend Ann gifted them to me.  Thank you so much Ann.  It is delicious.

Our church is doing a one time book study on this book February 13th from 1p.m. till 3p.m.  I am usually napping by 3pm. but this kind of fit into my energy slots so thought I would try it.  I am enjoying reading the book.

One more dish cloth knitted.  This one is red although looks more pink here and it is for me.  It will be nice to use around Valentine's Day.

My last picture is my little buddy, Coco.  She is warming up the bed for my nap which I will take after posting this!  I am glad you could visit and would love if you could leave a comment.  Zzzzzzzzzz

Have a Great New Year!

Did everyone have a wonderful Christmas?  We sure did!  This is our family picture this year with Santa Claus and we did get another one in our traditional pajamas.  We missed our family from Maryland,  Dan, Elizabeth and Abigail!  Maybe next year!

We had a new addition to our family this year!  Meet our second little great granddaughter Claire Li!  This little bundle of joy was born December 9th!

Two chicken pot pies to pop in the oven!  My gluten free pie crusts are not the prettiest!  I made them from a gluten free pie crust mix.  Takes too much butter and after mixing has to be refrigerated for an hour.  I had to employ hubby's muscles to roll it out!  I have one more of those mixes left and then I think I will try my gluten free biscuit mix as it is much easier and faster.

Coco recognizes her stocking and loves to get the special treats in it.

Coco loves carrots!  Well, she loves almost every vegetable too!

Trying to organize my three garden notebooks!  I am not an organizer.  My organized friends would cringe to see this!  Trying to put fruit and information in one.  Veggies, herbs and flowers in one and this year's information in the third one.  I had to order my courtyard garden seeds by Dec. 29th to get my 15 percent discount so that is done and now just waiting for the arrival.

I have not had much time for crafting during the holiday season but am anxious to get back to it.  I managed to get one dish cloth finished.  Better get those needles clicking and the sewing machine humming!  Have a wonderful New Year!  Thanks for taking the time to visit and comment!  Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
