Sewing, Guests, Donuts & Preserving!

A couple friends came over to sew again.  One of them brought this beautiful pillow case she had made to show us.

Another friend finished this pillow wrap!  Don't you just love it!

Then there was me who made a couple simple Christmas table runners!

I also learned how to square up squares!!

I also had friends stop by from Michigan!  My friend, Carol, and her daughter.  Her daughter is a Master Gardener and of course I had to show them my yard!!!  We had a great visit!

I finally got to try out my new donut pan.  They turned out more like cake than donut tasting.  I have another recipe using yeast I want to try next!

Still working on dehydrating apples.  One more dehydrator full yet to do and then it is on to dehydrating carrots.

I started eating the dilly carrots that I had canned.  I like them and want to can more!

Of course I had to get a little reading time in also.  This is a book that I checked out from our library.   Everyone have a great Thanksgiving!  We have so much to be thankful for!

I made pickled carrots the first time last week. They have to sit a while before I try them. I usually love all things pickle so I'm hoping that I like them a lot. It would be a fun way to preserve them.

Hi Daphne, Thanks for visiting! I am not real fond of pickled things so wasn't sure if I would like the carrots. Tried the dilly beans before and didn't care for them. Glad I did like the carrots tho! Come again! Nancy

It looks like you had a great time doing something fun with people that are fun to be with. I may have to give the dilled carrots a go next season!

Hi Bama Girl, Thank you for the birthday wishes! I hope the lasagna boxes work well too. He has built me three! Now just has to figure out to do the fine wire tops to keep bugs and Coco out and that I can just lift off! Come again! Nancy

Hi Kathryn Duke, My friend made a set of pillow wraps for me! I love them! Oe has a snowman, one a pumpkin, one a sunflower and one a watermelon on it so that I can change them out with the seasons! I am sure you would enjoy them if you decide to make some! Thanks for visiting! Come again! Nancy

What a great time. I love sewing and wished I had more time to do it.

The doughnuts turned out good. They are more cake like than most recipes. I hope that you like the yeast recipe.

Have a wonderful evening.

Hi Cheryl, You do so many other things, no wonder you don't have a lot of time to sew!! Seems to have gotten really busy here now so I am not sure when I will get to try the yeast donuts. Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Oh Nancy, I like your table runners. And your square squares look fantastic. I would like to learn a bit of machine quilting at some point, just real low on the list right now. Your doughnuts look great. And I am glad you are enjoying your dilly carrots. I did not get carrots plants this fall. oh well!

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
