Small Harvest but Still Lots of Work!

This is my Rose Atari Scented Geranium.  I kept it in a pot during the summer set partially in the ground.  I wanted to bring it in the house for the winter but it was just too large!  I clipped off some starters and stuck one in rooting powder and some just in water to root.  I hope one will work!

I picked the last of the green peppers and pulled out the plants!  Also picked a small amount of green beans that day.

We bought a bushel and a half of apples!  That means lots of working making our lumpy applesauce and dehydrating some!  Maybe I could just wiggle my nose and it would be done?

Green beans I had picked ready to flash freeze!

"Wonderful Gardener" still picking raspberries but I will say again that they are about done!  He also got three strawberries!  I had picked these beans and then picked a few more tonight.  I had to wear my winter jacket to work outside this morning and could have used my ear muffs too but it warmed up by noon time.  Ended the day by giving a couple piano lessons which I love to do and I love gardening and I love quilting and....and....and....!  Have a good week!!!

I've had to don my heavy sweater or sweatshirt for garden work lately, it has been so unseasonably cold! Of course, it got up to 70 degrees today while I was busy running back and forth to the hospital, so didn't have time for outside work. Granddaughter and baby will go home tomorrow, so it will probably turn cold again!

Hi Annie*s Granny, Greeting new great-granddaughters is more important than gardening anyway! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

For our cards.... I have a quilted look for one of them. You are going to love making one, I know. The other one is very, very simple and should be able to make at least 6 in about an hr. plus envelopes. Lots of time to help you with garden stuff if you want.... Pray that I don't have to drive in the rain. It is a pretty long ways from Jackson to Porter. But I will stop if I get sleepy and get a coffee. See you Friday. Let me know if you are an hour ahead of us, it will make a difference, what time I get there. I'll Probably leave about 9:00. Should be there between 11 and 12.

You certainly have enough there to keep you busy! I would love to have those raspberries! We have a patch, but being in the woods, the birds rarely leave us any.

Can one have too many hobbies or enjoy too many activities?!! I think NOT!!! You have a wonderful zest for 'life'. Still can't believe the harvest you are still getting. My green peppers never matured. :(

Hi Nancy! Your harvest of peppers and beans have been great! The peppers look huge! Our weather is slightly cool in the morning, then having to turn on the A/C after noon! Maybe soon we'll have much cooler weather! Those apples look delicious! I just received a free bag of apples today! I can hardly wait to get started on them tomorrow! Have a great day! Blessings from Bama!

Hi Felecia, Thanks! There were a couple large peppers when I pulled them out and quite a few little ones. We finally turned the heat on this morning. Now tonight I think I need the A/C back on!! Glad you could visit! Nancy

Your scented geranium looks so lush and beautiful. I hope you starts take well. I seem to have good luck with I dust them with that powdered root hormone, then pot them up and keep those pots moist. Crossing my fingers for you!

I look forward to seeing the cards that you and Sue will be making. Quilted cards - sounds SO fun!

Beautiful harvests. I especially love those apples. I hope next year we get a bigger harvest, but the trees are still small. So it might be a while before we count our harvest in bushels.

Hi Daphne, It would be wonderful to have an apple tree but I am still trying to learn how to care for my peach, Asian pears and cherry tree! Hoping you get a great harvest from yours next year! Thanks for visiting! Nancy

Everything looks so good. Our garden is gone due to frost three nights in a row. I wish we would have got more tomatoes, but oh well.

Your raspberries look so good. I can't wait until we get some next year.

Have a wonderful evening.

Ha ha... My dad tried to wiggle his nose and get the apples done yesterday that he'd picked from our two trees. Sorry to tell you, it doesn't work. Although he sliced a lot for the dehydrator and my mother made a crisp yesterday, there's still lots to do. I just looked out into the garden and the two apple trees we have our still loaded with them! Applesauce making is likely in my future this afternoon and tomorrow after work. Of course, you already know this, the work is so worth the enjoyment of homegrown food during the winter months.

Hi Becky, We have some of our apples taken care of but a lot yet to do. Good luck on yours! Guess we should be thankful to have them! Thanks for visiting!! Nancy

Hi! You just reminded me that I want to bring my geranium inside for winter too! Your garden has done so well. We only have peppers to pick right now. Homemade applesauce sounds yummy. :) My neighbors green beans did great this year. She gave me a bag or two a week for a couple of months. We enjoyed a fresh pot of beans every week, now we miss them!

I hope you have a nice weekend.

:)Vicki

Hi vicki, Hoping my geranium does well that I rerooted for the house. My garden is slowly getting put away for the winter except for some greens and a few carrots yet and maybe a little cabbage that grew back. Lucky you to get gifted with green beans. We didn't harvest a lot of those this year but some due to our brown furbaby getting into them! Thanks for visiting!! Nancy
