I have been harvesting a zucchini pretty steady now. Also lots of sungold and some cherry tomatoes. Seems like the harvest is slow this year but maybe it is just impatient me!
Margaret made chocolate zucchini bread so I thought I would try it. Tasted good but turned out crumbly. Hers didn't! My cucumbers are finally starting to produce! I picked a yellow tomato but it wasn't quite ripe. How can I tell when yellow tomatoes are ripe?? Another zucchini and a green pepper!
The beauty of the Hibiscus flower amazes me. We had a hard winter and I thought maybe it had died. I wish the flowers would bloom longer as they are so pretty. Pink is my favorite color to wear!
I planted just a few more beet seeds. Hoping they will grow so I will have the beet greens and freeze up the beets both to go in my smoothies! Awhile back I made some chive vinegar. I did not get to it soon enough to make a lot so thought I would try making some dill vinegar. Are you enjoying and harvesting a lot from your gardens??
I've been making flavored vinegars too. Right now I'm working on tarragon and basil (two different ones, not together).
Hi Daphne, I don't use vinegars a lot but do enjoy the chive and dill. How do you use all yours? Nancy
Well, your bread looks awesome - crumbly or not ;) I just recently made my first flavoured vinegar (chive blossom vinegar) and I'm really enjoying it. I use it mainly when I'm making a basic vinaigrette salad dressing. It's such an easy to make "gourmet" ingredient - I'll most definitely experiment with other herbs in the future. BTW - just love the hibiscus.
Hi Margaret, Thanks! I can't seem to get into liking the vinaigrette but use mine in sloppy joes or cole slaw dressing. I know vinaigrette are suppose to be healthier but I like ranch or what I call ranch as I make my own. Nancy
hi Nancy ... good to see that you are still getting veggies from your garden. My tomatoes are coming on again after the deer ate all the tomatoes. Your sungold tomatoes look really good. Hope that next year I will have my garden in shape to grow more stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Audrey, It is sure nice to get a few veggies all along. Too bad it won't last all winter! I hope you get to harvest your tomatoes this time and not the deer!! Nancy
It sounds like your garden is producing steadily for you this year. Ours, not so much. The only things we're getting is yellow summer squash (a first!), grape and cherry tomatoes, an odd cucumber here and there along with an odd okra here and there. Can't do much with one or two okra! Zucchinis died back right away, which was odd. We usually get more of them. Oh well. There's always next year. Enjoy that zucchini bread!
we planted 2 pink hibiscus plants last year, and they are gorgeous-just like yours! i wish they bloomed earlier, though. the chocolate bread sure looks yummy! have a great week, nancy:)
Hi Lisa, We have gotten a little bit right along which is nice. My friends gardens seemed to have to produced more but then they have larger gardens! Nancy
Hi lynn, Enjoy your pink hibiscus! I wish they bloomed earlier and longer too!! Nancy
