Still using a little lettuce from what I grew under the Gro Light Kit so I guess that will have to count for my harvest!!!
Cabbage was 19 cents a pound so I made up some freezer cole slaw for "wonderful gardener" to eat this coming winter!
Well, it looks like a little spinach, parsley and red lettuce made it through the winter in the cold frame! I have recently planted more lettuce, spinach and radishes in the other spots. The lettuce is up although you can't see it in the picture.
Pruning the raspberries is done!! My "little helper" Coco says I did a good job! I am glad I have her approval! She is looking forward to eating the ones on the lower branches again this year!
The daffodils (in the middle in the back) and a few other perennials were brave and started growing.
Did I put my Gardening Angel out in the garden too soon?? She looked happy at the time!
My blogging friend and penpal Connie made this beautiful spring banner for me! Doesn't it look like spring hanging from the mantel! Thank you Connie!
Disappointed!!!! Got up to this beautiful sight this morning and more is coming down! I think someone forgot to tell the weather man that it is spring!!! Quick! Send him a message for me!

Yeah I wasn't happy that the first day of spring brought snow to us. There is a chance though that we might, just might, hit 60 this week. I'm hoping since we have bee about 5-10 degrees below normal this last week.
What a shock!!!
I am working on a salad garden here in Texas! No chance of snow here - or even frost!
Ugh...will it ever end? Well, at least you have some wonderful overwintered veg to look forward to! I'm still waiting for the weather to warm up a tiny bit more before I remove the straw from my kale & spring onions, although I'm not overly optimistic when it comes to the kale.
Hi Daphne, I was hoping we were done with our snow also but no luck! I see according to one forecast that our area is suppose to be hotter than usual this summer. Sure wish it would even out!! Nancy
Hi Linda, Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you will come back. i was so hoping we were done with this snow bit. Good luck on your salad garden! Nancy
Hi Margaret, I think we are impatient for winter to end! I did plant some Kale in the regular garden so will see what happens to that as haven't seen it up yet. Nancy
Dear Sweet Nancy, I am so sad to see your snow . . . I know that you are looking forward to working in your garden and digging in the warm spring earth. I am happy you like the banner . . . it looks very pretty hanging from your mantle.
Have a lovely week, hopefully that snow will melt very soon and not come back.
Connie :)
Hi Connie, Have a lovely week right back at cha!!! Maybe our snow will melt quickly and there will be no more! Hoping anyway! Glad you could visit! Nancy
Oh- I hear you. Now I hear we have a winter storm warning for Wednesday...snow, rain and freezing rain...great -just can't wait. Everything here is still frozen solid.
Glad you got at least a LITTLE BIT of Spring there...even if it didn't last long. xo Diana
Hi NanaDiana, Perhaps your weather man will be wrong!! The last month or two waiting for spring is so hard!! Nancy
Sorry the the new snow is ruining your plans to get started in the garden. The moisture will be good but maybe you have already had enough. Your little garden angel is pretty cute and she will be happy soon.
Hugs,
Audrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
Hi Audrey, I think we could do without the moisture from this snow! I have to learn to be patient!! Nancy
your garden angel is so cute, and connie's banner looks so sweet on your mantel, nancy:) spring is coming!
Oh No! More snow! I'm so sorry Nancy! Maybe it will melt soon! Your garden was looking so nice! I'm sure it will be fine even after all that snow! We're having 70's today and tomorrow! I'm so glad I live in the South! Stay warm! Blessings from Bama!
Hi lynn, Thanks! I do hope spring is here soon! Nancy
Hi Felecia, Thanks for the sympathy! I wish I lived where it was just a little warmer sooner. But like the plants I have to bloom where planted! Nancy
Oh my, I wasn't expecting that last photograph! Stay warm! Looks like your grow lights and cold frame kept you in fresh vegetables nicely this year.
Hi Lisa, Sure could have done without that last photo! I can't keep enough growing under the gro lights to supply my need but I can grow a little. Nancy
Snow is so disappointing! We have had a couple of days like that here. And just when you think winter is all over with. :(
I think your indoor lettuce did great. That was a great price on cabbage. We love homemade slaw. :)
Our parsley is coming back up, and I am so glad. I have been having a cup of parsley tea every morning.
Your spring decorations look so nice! I hope the warm weather has made its way back to you.
:)Vicki
Hi Vicki, Thanks! Still waiting for that warm weather! Parsley tea every morning? What does that help with? Do you add a sweetener? Nancy
