Does it seem like we are having fall nights to anyone else? Seems like I have not gotten an abundance of any one thing this summer.
Some of this and some of that!
The raspberries are producing more and more again.
Ugh and double Ugh! The squash bugs arrived!
After the onions I decided to plant this pot with cucumbers in the driveway. They look good here but are starting to yellow. Looking doubtful.......
The other two pots that had onions I planted to beans. They do look hopeful..........
At first glance I thought more bugs!! Nope! These are dill seeds that I am saving for next year. Not that I will probably need them. They usually reseed all over by themselves!!
I am not growing this one but she does look healthy!! Coco loves to clean out whatever is left in the peanut butter bottle!
I've been saving my dill seeds too. Though I haven't winnowed them out yet.
Hi Daphne, I don't know where the summer went but I am beginning to feel like it is fall in my harvesting efforts. Nancy
It felt like fall here today but we're experiencing a lot of smoke and haze due to wildfires so that may have had some effect.
When I sow dill I get poor results. The volunteers, however, thrive!!
Envious of those raspberries - Mine seem to be taking an long time to ripen - although never having grown them before, maybe that's just how they are. No dill seeds yet here, but the flower heads are loaded & I'm hoping to fill up the spice jar soon.
Hi Granny Marigold, It is a lovely day here again. I am glad that we don't have that smoke and hope it clears up fast for you. Wish I could give you some of my dill seed and that it would grow for you! Nancy
Hi Margaret, Come on over and I will share a bowl of raspberries! Maybe yours will ripen soon. Mine are everbearing. What are yours? Have fun collecting seeds! It is that time of year! Nancy
Sometimes my dill reseeds, and sometimes I need to plant it. Of course, if I plant an area with dill, volunteers will come up elsewhere.
Hi Daisy, Glad you could visit! Isn't it the truth that volunteers come where we don't want them but we can always transplant! My plants seem to have a mind of their own! Nancy
Thanks for visiting my blog! Your harvest is very tasty looking!! My favorite is tomatoes! I get can't enough~~Coco is too sweet...Blessings~~~Roxie
Hi Roxie, Thank you for commenting on my blog!! Come again! I am hoping to get a little tomato juice canned too. We love our little Coco! Nancy
Thanks for visiting my blog. I've just been looking at the photos on your blog - what a variety of things you grow! Looks like you and your granddaughters had a great time at the dolls' tea party. :-) xx
Lovely to have your visit, Nancy!
I left you a little reply : )
Looks like you have put a lot of effort into your veggie growing this summer!
Its all worth it for beautiful home grown produce; I regret not planting more myself..all I did was Spring onions and chard in a pot, which turned out bitter.
There's always another time, tho'.
Grandaughter pics are sweet and Coco too ~ what a treat she had!
See you again, many blessings!
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving the nice comment. We have cool nights here all summer long, so I can't really say it feels more like fall. However, yesterday I noticed a maple turning color. Now, that's FALL! (P.S. your tomatoes are lovely.)
Hi Liz, So nice to have you visit and comment. I don't have enough room to grow everything but then I guess I wouldn't have the energy either!! It is so nice to have fresh veggies from the garden. I will miss them this winter! Nancy
Hi Alex, So nice to have you visit me! I am sorry your chard turned out bitter but better luck next year! The grands and Coco keep me busy! Coco loves her veggies and is always trying to get some! Nancy
Hi Joyful Cottage, Thanks on the tomato comment. I love the color of the trees changing color but then the snow after not so much! Some nights get pretty warm here but I am not sure if I would like cool nights all the time. Take care. Nancy
Yup, mine are everbearing too. Since I just planted them this spring, I'm actually surprised to have anything on those tiny canes!
i wondered the name of those bugs! our weather has been awesome lately. i bet the peanut butter keeps coco busy for a good long time--bailey loves licking pb, too. have a great day, nancy!
Hi lynn, It is good to hear from you again! I know you have been busy. It seems all dogs love peanut butter! Our vet even gives them some to occupy them at times. Nancy
I walked through what is left of the garden yesterday and was shocked to see hundreds of squash bugs...just like those in your picture. Aren't they the ugliest bugs ever? My garden did not do so good this year. Your vegetables are pretty.
Hi Henny Penny, I have to agree those squash bugs give me the willys! Glad they waited until I had enough zucchini grated for zucchini bread! Sorry your garden did not do well this year. Nancy
Hi Nancy, I save dill seed to scatter around in the spring, too. I love dill and like to add it to salads as well as adding it to my flower arrangements. My dill didn't do well this year, I guess because of the heat. But alas, it rained this weekend and the air feel so cool, crisp and wonderful. This was our first true rain since May.
Hi Connie, Glad you got some rain and it has cooled off. Suppose to be hot again for us. Of course, it won't be as hot as you were but too hot for me! Thanks for commenting! Nancy
