Food, Trip, Birthday & Coco

We bought a half bushel of apples and made up our lumpy applesauce for the freezer.  We usually buy a bushel or a bushel and a half and can and dehydrate it but couldn't this year.  It will still taste great from the freezer!

Used my energy one day to make up a raspberry pie with raspberries frozen from our yard.  Of course I had to have a sample and it passed the yummy test!

We took a little trip to Nashville Indiana!  What a fun place to visit with all the little shops!  Pretty decorations!

We spent some time in Brownsville, IN State Park.  What a beautiful place in the fall!

Here is another one of the trees.  Love the vibrant color!

Here is one of "wonderful gardener"!  We took a little walk in the park.  Beautiful day!

The artists open up their homes/workshops out in the countryside  during the month of October.  We visited this one with the water mill that they had brought in.  It was way out in the boonies!  Interesting!!!

We came home and helped celebrate our granddaughter Cali's 6th birthday!  She is our youngest grandchild and growing up way too fast.

Coco went to visit Sophia while we were gone.  Here they are flopped out after their walk!  That is what I feel like doing about now!  Have a safe and Happy Halloween!!!!

Ha! We went on a Sunday drive too. Isn't it just the loveliest time of the year? You got some lovely pics!

My youngest grand is also 6. Sometimes I wish I could keep him at this wacky yet innocent stage.
I always have to sample my baking too, before I serve it to others. You know, just in case it's not good!

Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks! I love to see the trees in color now. Now, isn't that just a good excuse to sample our baking!!! LOL Nancy

I love Brown County this time of year. It's been a few years since we went to Nashville, IN but it is always a fun place to visit and shop!

Hi Dave, This is the second or third time we have been to Brown County. I would like to tour their covered bridges sometime. Beautiful area! Nancy

Hi Audrey, Yes it is a pretty time of year here. Do you get much color later on? I am sure we will enjoy every bit of the applesauce! Nancy

Sounds like you had a wonderful time! I'm glad that the Lime isn't slowing you down very much - it seems that you are feeling much better!

Hi Margaret, No, I am not feeling better but I try to do one or two goals a day. I make it look like I do a lot! LOL I did not walk around much in Nashville but it was so nice to get away and enjoy the colors of fall. Nancy

I love trips in the country or mountains this time of the year. Those trees are simply beautiful. Happy birthday to Cali. I miss my little Madison who grew up way too fast. She is seventeen now. She used to love visiting us and was such a joy to have around. I bet Coco was glad to see you get home.

A week ago last Saturday I was in Nashville, IN with my daughter and her family. What a CUTE place. It was so packed we could hardly walk on the sidewalks though. I would like to go back sometime when it is not so busy.

Your little Cali is just beautiful! They do grow up way too fast, don't they? xo Diana

ps. That raspberry pie looks awfully good!

Hi Henny Penny, Coco was glad to see us but I don't think she minds staying at Sophia's as her mama takes them for walks!! I am afraid that before we know it Cali will be 17 too!!! have a nice Halloween! Nancy

Hi NanaDiana, Thanks! And yes kids seem to grow way to fast. Too bad we weren't both in Nashville at the same time! We could have had a cup of coffee together. It was crowded when we were there too. I thought maybe it might not be as it was the middle of the week. Have a nice Halloween! Nancy

What a lovely place to spend a Fall Day. Like many others this is my favorite time of year. We have some pretty fall color here in the Northwest but not quite as spectacular as the Midwest and New England. Raspberries are among my favorite things too. That pie looks delicious. Happy Birthday to your Granddaughter. :)

Hi Gloriade, Thanks! I guess there is some beauty in every season don't you think? I just don't like the cold but the snow is so pretty. We enjoyed the pie!!! Have a safe Halloween! Nancy

Hi Leigh, Thanks! Looking out my kitchen window I can see the beautiful fall colors on the trees across the street. What a lovely view! Glad you get to enjoy them too! Nancy

I would really like to know the name of your raspberry plant. It seems to produce well for you. Mine doesn't do well and doesn't taste very sweet and I love raspberries. Really enjoy your blog and photos. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Unknown, Thank you for visiting. My raspberries are Heritage Virus-Free and they are everbearing. I have moved them three times before leaving them here and they have produced so well year after year. If you lived near I could give you some starters from them! Good luck! Nancy

WOW, you have been busy. Cute little girls, they grow up so fast though.

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
