My Big Harvest and Things!

My big harvest this week!  LOL

My little harvest this week!!!!!

Freshly made cole slaw from garden cabbage.

Coco harvesting raspberries!

Coco has also learned how to pull the raspberry bush down to pick the raspberries!  Perhaps that is the reason I didn't have a larger harvest!

We celebrated Mike's birthday this week!  Note Gracie's fashion glasses!  She has 20/20 vision!

I love buying new material!  Could that be considered a hobby??  Christmas material was on sale for 40 percent off and I had a 20 percent off coupon plus a $5 off coupon.  Now who could resist that bargain!!!!  I do have projects in mind!

Chugging right along!  Finished knitting two dish cloths!  Does anyone know what that brown thing is on the one dish cloth?  I got it from my Mother and I don't know where she got it from.  She is in Heaven now so I can't ask her.  Till next time.....................

I would consider collecting material a great hobby!!
I have no idea what that brown thing is but I'm going to keep checking back here in case someone else knows.

Hi Granny Marigold, I am glad someone agrees that collecting material is a great hobby! Hoping someone will be able to shed some light on what that brown thing is! Hoping you have a good week! Nancy

Those are a lot of raspberries...even your cupful is a mountain compared to my harvests. I would say purchasing material is a hobby...I have a similar "hobby" - purchasing yarn. Can't seem to pass by a LYS without stopping in and buying something.

Hi Margaret, I could very easy have a habit of purchasing yarn too! Oh, if I could just get made up all I think of to make!! Have a good week! Nancy

LOL at your BIG harvest! I think that thing is a "shuttle" of sorts and was used for lace making of some kind. Not sure but that is what it looks like to me.

Thanks for popping by my blog and thank you for praying for Gert and her family. She is just the most lovely lady and wheelchair bound now with her MS. I know it is really hard on her. xo Diana

Hi NanaDiana, Thanks for the idea that the brown thing might be a shuttle. Gert sounds like a wonderful lady and so positive! I hope things look up for her soon. Nancy

I am amazed that you are still getting raspberries in October. You found some lovely materials for Christmas. I hope you find a fun project for them.

It looks like a tatting shuttle that my great aunt used when I was a young girl (now 75 yrs. old).
I enjoy your blog very much.

Hi Anonymous, Thanks for the information. I am 75 also. I am glad you enjoy my blog. Do you have a blog? We are thankful for the rain we get. It must be hard living in such a drought stricken state but oh, how beautiful your state is. We visited there when we were fifth-wheeling. Hope you will visit again. Nancy

Good that you are still getting a little from your garden. Hope Coco is not getting more than his share. I love cold slaw and wish I could grow cabbage so I could make my own.

Hi Audrey, I am afraid Coco would clean the garden out if she had the opportunity! Is there not some way you could grow a few cabbage in a 4x4 spot? That is what I do. Thanks for your comments!! Nancy

Coco is so smart! I used to have a terrible weakness for fabric, then yarn. I have to agree with Sandy L that the shuttle looks like a tatting shuttle. My daughter knows how to tat, but it's too fiddly for me.

Hi Leigh, I think of all these things to make but am so slow at getting them made up! I don't think I could tat either. Too fine of work for me. Beautiful though. Nancy

Hi Nancy, and thank you so much for visiting me via sweet Connie! Isn't her country cottage gorgeous?!! Thank you for your kind words about my cards and my chemo - last treatment on Friday and I can't wait for it to be all over now. I have so much to look forward to! Like you, I am a Christian and know that God has a purpose for my life in all that I have been through.

God bless you.

Your harvest looks good and that cole slaw sure has my mouth watering. Looking at those pretty patterns in the material you picked out reminds me that Christmas isn't that far off. I still can't believe that November is next month.

By the way, I'm so glad you stopped by my blog because it gave me a chance to find you. I certainly enjoyed my visit and look forward to reading more posts from you. Blessings to you... :)

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
