Plants!!

It is that time of year when I can't resist buying new plants!  This is a beautiful Columbine.

My Sungold tomato plant.  Wanted to be sure I got one!

I love geraniums!  I think these are the same size pots but one is larger than the other.

Those geraniums will go on the chairs by the garden gate.  If the nights get too cold yet I will bring them in the house.

Of course, besides the geraniums I had to buy more plants.

I bought another red geranium to set on the bird bath stand in the garden.   Will have to cut off the hook!  I dug out blackberry roots that came up again and put them in the five gallon pails in the garden area.  They are thornless and read that I am suppose to be able to grow them in pots.  We didn't care much for eating the blackberries but the blackberry jelly was sure good so what have I to lose if I try growing them this way!

I was just about out of my homade bread so had to get busy and bake some.  I got this recipe from my good friend, Carol, a long time ago when she served me some in Pt. Huron, MI. where we use to live.  Thanks Carol for sharing this delicious recipe!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers!!  I hope you all have a wonderful day!

I bought my geraniums yesterday and will keep them in the garage at night until it stays consistently warm in the evening.

Nothing smells or taste better than homemade bread.

I can never resist buying plants either. Too many of them. Last year I vowed to have less in pots ( because I spent an hour each evening watering) but somehow I still have plants in pots everywhere.
Your bread sure does look tasty.

The flowers you bought are so pretty. I've resisted buying any so far and that's not like me. There is still time, I think. Your yard looks pretty. Happy Mother's Day!

I love bright colored flowers, and geraniums, especially bright red, are among my favorites. I too have planted some in pots for the summer. We have some purple columbine that is just coming into bloom and Coral Bells as well. Spring is such a wonderful time of year.

Hi Gloriade, I love the big bright red pots of geraniums but the big pots are sure expensive! I hope my columbine will come back next year. I understand that they reseed too. Now if I just don't pull them out when they do thinking they are weeds! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
