I bought some herbs, garden thyme, lemon thyme, oregano and sage. I put the lemon thyme in another one of the boxes. It is hard narrowing my list down from what I want to plant and what I have room to plant!
Here is Coco checking the herbs out! At least she didn't eat them!
I planted some sugar peas in pots. I don't know where I will put them to climb but they are looking good!
Regular shelling peas growing in my covered box. Did I plant them too close? Should I thin them?
Some greens and radishes growing on the other side of the peas. I even cut 3 or 4 mustard leaves for my salad today! The tall plant on the right is a lemon balm I bought. It will go in the ground. Planted lettuce and waiting for it to come up!
Some kale I planted in a pot. It doesn't seem to be growing much. I wonder what I am doing wrong!
"Wonderful Gardener" working on the alcove area!
Mission accomplished! We got it up! I helped a little so I can say "we"! Stay tuned to what else we plan to do in this area!
The two raspberry bushes I brought with me are doing so well. If I can't grow anything else maybe I will plant the courtyard all to raspberries! Ha! There are two little ones, one on each side, growing that were given to me by our friends. I originally gave them starters and now they are sharing back with me. They have some green on them so I think they will come along.
We finally decided on a pot of flowers for the front porch! I am not sure if "wonderful gardener" really likes them or if he just gave in! We don't always see eye to eye on things!
I made up a new granola bar recipe. They are very, very crunchy and I probably won't make them again!
Finished making a baby quilt finally.
A close up of the front of the quilt. What have you all been busy doing? If you care to leave a comment I enjoy reading them. Have a great rest of the week!

Adorable quilt. Boy you have been busy. I love planting certain herbs but most times I just use them in a pot on the deck so I can go out and run my hands through them just to smell them....Rosemary being the best one! Solving that problem since my niece sells essential oils, I ordered Rosemary yesterday! Loving that your stuff is coming up so pretty. I have some lemon sage (smells like lemon Pledge)....I have had it here at this house 25 yrs and it just keeps coming back. Enjoy you cool sitting space.
Hi Pam, Thanks! It doesn't take much to keep me busy!! Since I only have a small courtyard now it is almost like going out on a deck to pick herbs! I love herbs but I don't seem to use a lot of them in cooking. I will have to check into lemon sage! Thanks for commenting! Nancy
Everything is growing so well, well, maybe not the Kale, but it may just be getting off to a slow start. I love the pot of flowers on the cute painted chair... did you paint it?
The quilt is so pretty but since I don't sew or quilt I don't understand how you got the rounded corners on the black background. Is there an easy way to explain to someone who has no sewing experience? I'll check back tomorrow and see if its even possible to explain.
Hi Granny Marigold, Thanks! My husband painted the chair. I am not a painter! There are no rounded corners on the quilt but it does look like it in the picture. There are mitered corners. I think that is what they are called. Is that what you meant? You could probably google mitered corners or if you like I can send you a site how to do them. I think I can find one again. Thanks for visiting and commenting! Nancy
My goodness. You have been very busy. It seems like just the other day you were waiting for the weather to get warm enough for planting and now things are already growing! You probably already know, but I want to remind you to be careful with planting your lemon balm. It can become quite invasive if you don't watch it carefully. Your little arbor area is very cute and I like the baby quilt too. Hope you had a happy Easter.
Nancy-you've proven that you can't keep a gardener from gardening! Lovely and creative ways of fitting things in to your new home.
I'd thin the peas just a bit to keep them happy......though isn't thinning always the worst. I feel like I'm murdering plants-LOL! (you can throw pea shoots on a salad too)
Love the new sitting area. You've really made your house a home.
My goodness you've been busy! I have nothing growing except my rhubarb. We're supposed to be 60° today for the first time! Yippee! I love that sweet little painted chair. And your alcove looks like a nice place to sit and have a glass of iced tea on a hot summers day.
Blessings, Betsy
All your flowers and gardening looks pretty. Love the alcove and the pretty colored chair!
the baby quilt is lovely.
Have a good day.
Wow, things sure are growing like crazy there, Nancy! I am still hoping some of my herbs from last year will come back but I'm starting to have my doubts. The fact that they are in a raised bed makes it tough....even the perennial herbs don't like to come back. I'll give them a couple more weeks and if no sign of life, out they come!!
Your garden is growing so quickly! Everything looks so wonderful. I agree with Sue, I would thin your peas a bit. They will be happier and it will make it easier for you to pick.
Love your new arbour!
Robin
Wow Nancy you have certainly been busy...i just love your raised garden.Dar
Hi Gloriade, Thanks! I was thinking of putting the lemon balm under the alcove where it would get hardly any sun. Do you think it still will get away on me? We did have a nice Easter even though I was not feeling up to par. Glad you could visit. Nancy
Hi Sue, Thanks a lot! It is hard thinning out plants sometimes. I did cut a few off to put on my salad but have to really get down to business and thin some out now. Nancy
Hi Betsy, Thanks! It seems we are so busy I hope I have time to sit and enjoy a glass of tea! LOL I don't have any rhubarb. Bob does not care for it and it is poisonous to Coco if she eats the leaves and I can't trust her not too. Nancy
Hi Anonymous, Thanks Dar! And thanks for commenting! Nancy
Hi Cheryl, Thanks! It was a good day today! I got to hold my first great grandbaby for the first time! Adorable little girl. Nancy
Hi Debbie from Mountain Mama, Thanks! Oh, I hope your herbs come back for you and hoping they will come back for me next year also but thanks for the warning! Nancy
Hi Cat Lover, Thanks! I cut a few off for my salad but know I should thin them and must get at that! Thanks for the your and Sue's advice! Nancy
I see now what you mean about the mitered corners. The whole effect is so lovely. I'm always impressed by what you and others can create because when the talent for sewing or quilting was given out I didn't get any!!! Thanks for explaining that.
Well, things certainly are growing on your end aren't they! I think you just have to be patient with the kale...sometimes plants take a little while to settle in, but once they do, watch out! You may be swimming in kale before you know it:)
Nancy, all your plants look so pretty and healthy, even the kale. I have a hard time growing kale. Some kind of tiny black worms turn the leaves into lace. :) But lemon balm! I bought one tiny plant a few years ago and now it grows everywhere...everywhere! I've never seen anything so invasive. When I mow, the air smells like fresh lemons. I did a post once about lemon balm. The baby quilt is so pretty. It reminds me of a box of candy. Love, Henny
Hi Granny Marigold, I am just an amateur on quilting. I would like to encourage you to watch some beginner videos on quilting and plunge in! Enjoy! Nancy
Hi Margaret, I do hope my kale grows. I am trying to learn to use it as know it is good for you. Thanks for the encouragement! I don't happen to be a very patient person! LOL Nancy
Hi Henny Penny, Thanks! I have been warned about lemon balm! I am not certain if I should just put it in a container. I like it but not taking up my whole small yard. Will have to give it some thought. Nancy
