Really Mr. Weatherman! Did you have to do this to me! I am getting mighty tired of lugging all my plants in and out of the house every morning and night! He had the nerve to say tonight that we would have a frost! This old oilcloth tablecloth sure comes in handy for setting them on the floor!
And these yet!
And my two tomato plants! That blob in the dish behind are yard long bean seeds that I planted in an egg shell! The seeds were two or three years old and I see one is popping through. Chris Fisher shared them with me. I am so excited and hope I can get it transplanted into a larger pot without killing it!
My sweet pepper plant is doing so well. We haul this big basket in the house almost every night and then out again in the morning! Did I mention we both have bad backs!! LOL
Covered my strawberry bed! Not taking any chances!
Pots got set under the long protected bed to try to protect them.
And the pots on top of the potting bench got set underneath it!
Hollyhock plant got covered just in case!
Herbs got covered.
How does one keep straight which plants to keep moist and which ones to let dry out before watering!!!!!
Behind this Cocoa Hazelnut spread (which I love) is a chocolate mint plant. Do you think it will make my tea taste like chocolate?!
And when I am not hauling plants in and out of the house and tending to my garden I can always knit dishcloths! I love gardening and I love reading any comments you leave. Have a happy week!!!!!

Oh my! That does look like a lot of work carting all of those plans in and out. It's supposed to be 34° here tonight. I don't think summer is ever going to come to stay. I love the color you chose for you dishcloths. Very, very pretty.
Blessings, Betsy
I can certainly sympathize with you! I have so many flats that need in and out. And I STILL have over 3 weeks until our planting date. I think we both need a greenhouse!!
:)
Nancy. I think you need a green house as well.. Dar
Hi Betsy, It does get discouraging waiting for the temperatures to stay high enough to plant our things out! Maybe it will help me develop patience! Nancy
Hi Sue, Three weeks!!! Oh, I hope I don't have to wait that long! Probably will be safe soon here. Nancy
Hi Dar, You are probably right that I do need a greenhouse but I also need a larger courtyard to put it on!!! But wait.....didn't I downsize for less work! LOL Nancy
You reminded me to order my zinnia mix bag today. I'm living dangerously and planting the zinnias around Mother's Day.
My sweet peas and poppies are thriving and the volunteer marigolds are popping up all over!
I like to knit dishcloths and I WILL as soon as I tie up some other knitting projects.
Happy Monday - happy week!
It seems so many of us are "enjoying" this interesting weather! I haven't planted out any annuals yet except pansies. We have been known to get a frost up until the last week in May so I wasn't taking any chances this year.
Be careful hauling in and out all those plants.
Have a good week!
Robin
Oh boy, what a nuisance!! We got a bit of snow today, but nothing sticking, thankfully. The tops of the mountains were well frosted, and no doubt we had a frost overnight. I don't have anything tender out yet, only pansies and other hardy plants. Hopefully spring will come to stay soon!
I've been doing the same thing; dragging pots indoors then back out IF it was going to be a nice day. My back isn't great either and now I seem to have pulled something when I was throwing things for the dog.
So now I've decided the Geraniums for sure are going to stay outside. They are in terra cotta pots so they weigh a lot.
I'm going to go to the nursery tomorrow just to look around ( yeah, sure!).
Hi Nancy! :) I felt for you when you were talking about the sweet pepper plant. Last fall I had to haul the lemon tree in and out of the house nightly and at one point I just got fed up and it stayed by the window! My oh my those are LOTS of plants to cater to! I will be doing that mighty soon, but all of my pots are smaller at this point so it won't be too much to lug! They look so pretty and I look forward to seeing how your beans do from the eggshell! I was tempted to do some of my seeds in egg shells this year too, but the cats would have used them as play things I'm sure!!
Hi Pom Pom, Not sure where to plant them but I love zinnias! Hope yours do well when you plant them and survie the weather. What kind of yarn do you use for your dishcloths? Nancy
You are wise and patient to plant later! I tend to rush things, be impatient and make myself more work! Nancy
Hi Debbie, I think we warm up a little faster here than you do but I tend to plant things out too early and cause myself more work! Won't be long now till you can plant! Nancy
Hi Granny Marigold, I will be looking forward to seeing what jumped into your cart at the nursery when you go! The night temps are are suppose to be in the 40's the rest of the week but I still brought in my annuals and my pepper plant. Planted two lavendar today and my back is sure complaining tonight! Why do I love to garden! LOL Nancy
Hi Rain, I must be a gluten for punishment! I planted out two perennials today and my back is complaining tonight! I don't think I would do seeds in egg shells again as there is just not much room but one has sprouted although it sure looks weird! Nancy
I totally under your frustration with the weather. I haven't even attempted to plant anything yet. Too chilly and too much rain.
Take care
Hi Cheryl, I hope we are done with being in the 30's for nighttime now and that we both can get to gardening without worry! Nancy
Everything is so beautiful that of course you have to protect it all! Hopefully you'll get on to summer soon(?)
Hi Leigh, We have had some really nice days lately and I hope it stays that way. I am hoping that my flowers and veggies live since this is a new pace and new growing conditions! Nancy
