The peas from my garden tasted so good but they take up too much of my space growing them for what I get!
See that little bit of green in the mulch? Coco has been enjoying my kale! The cabbage butterflies have been at it so I don't mind if she wants to eat those holy leaves!
We bought three of these picnic covers to put over the kale to keep both the cabbage moths and Coco out. This was not my idea but I can't remember where I saw it.
Getting a few tomatoes from my front porch pots! Have one sun gold plant and one patio tomato plant.
Getting a few pretty blossoms on my Morning Glory. Wishing there were more!
I was so surprised and excited to see this beautiful light pink rose blooming on the David Austin Climbing rose bush we just planted a short time ago!
We planted another rose bush at the corner of the house in the courtyard this morning. I wonder how many more plants I can squeeze into my little courtyard yet !!?!
I have frozen three batches of pesto from my basil so far. I tried putting it an ice cube tray but it was so hard to get out. Tried parchment paper and it works much better! I love it on my sandwiches.
My zucchini is growing out of the cage in the large pot. I don't think it will get pollinated so will have to learn how to hand pollinate it I am thinking. Loving the wonderful weather we are having. Thanks for visiting and hope your gardens are a success! Would love if you feel like leaving a comment!

Your plants look great! I planted tooooooo many zucchini.
One year when there didn't seem to be any bees around I hand pollinated
my tomatoes using a Q-tip. I just moved from one blossom to another and it seemed to do the trick.
My Morning Glories are only starting to wind their way up so no blooms yet.
Hi Pom Pom, Thanks! You will be making lots of zucchini bread, zucchini relish and whatever zucchini you can give away! Better too many than none I guess. Nancy
Hi Granny Marigold, I have quite a few tomatoes on my tomato out there so won't have to pollinate them but hoping I can get a few zucchini! Morning Glories are so pretty, aren't they! Nancy
Coco eats kale? I didn't know dogs would do that! Very clever idea about the picnic food cover!
Hi Leigh, Yes, Coco likes almost any vegetable! I don't think she will eat lettuce though. She ate my asparagus and hostas to the ground at the previous house. Have a good week! Nancy
What a good idea for plant covers! Your plants look fantastic.
I am jealous on your tomatoes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Wishing you a great week.
Hi Nancy! :) I'm starting to get a few peas too, but mine are in pots and I'm curious to see how many I actually can grow. I know what you mean about the space not fitting the harvest though! I'm wondering how many (if any) pumpkins I'll get for all the work I did! :) I have some morning glories just starting to grow, I got the white Moonflower for the "moon garden" but it's very slow growing at the moment! Coco ate your kale, that's a great idea to cover it!!
Hi Cheryl, Hoping the plant covers work out well! So far I have only harvested a few tomatoes but hoping for more! Nancy
It was wonderful to see how well your garden is doing today. What a great idea about freezing the pesto on parchment paper. It looks like that would be much easier to thaw out. I didn't know that dogs would eat kale. How funny. Enjoy the warm weather. It's getting hot here too. Blessings, Betsy
Hi Rain, I am wondering how many pea seeds you put in a pot and what the size of the pot was? Hoping to make up another batch of pesto tomorrow! Coco will eat almost any vegetable which makes it harder to garden in this little courtyard. In our last place we put up a fence to keep her out. Nancy
Hi Betsy, It was easier to get the pesto off the parchment paper to put them in the freezer than trying to get them out of the ice cube tray. Coco will eat almost any vegetable! Nancy
Fresh peas are so good but way too much work for me, not just the space they take but the time it takes to shell them and so little is really there once you are done. I haven't really grown vegetables in years but my little green bean plants are coming along and my potted raspberries are just starting to get ripe.
Hi Gloriade, I agree with you about the peas! Glad to hear that your beans are doing well. It is a battle this year with the beans for me! Are you going to leave your raspberries in pots? I brought a couple from the other house and I almost wish I would have left them in pots! Nancy
Oh, look at those lovely roses! I just ordered my first David Austin rose (which I won in a raffle - hurray!) but it won't be shipped until next spring. Very much looking forward to it! And lucky you with those tomatoes!! It will be a few weeks yet until we get any, I think - things are so late around here this year.
Hi Margaret, Aren't roses wonderful! This is my very first David Austin rose! My smaller tomatoes are producing but still have my fingers crossed on the Roma. It is wonderful that you are redoing your gardens! Nancy
