My very first Roma tomato this year!!!! It was hiding and hard to see. I am hoping the rest of them on my one plant will ripen nicely. The sungolds are almost done producing so it will be nice to move on to these.
Another nice size zucchini!
A dermatologist did a biopsy on one of my itchy rashes. Found out I have Dermatitis herpetiformis. In simple words I am allergic to wheat, rye and barley. Fun, fun, fun! I found this Gluten Free Chocolate Chip cookie mix at Aldi's and it is quite good!
Also found a gluten free pancake mix and made them up. Pretty tasty!
I was grumbling (imagine that!) because the landscapers didn't plant any perennial flowers in my front yard but now I have two bushes flowering. They are pretty but I wish I knew what they were. Do you think they might be some type of hydrangea?
I needed some smaller dessert plates so went to the thrift store this past week. Found 6 of these pretty little vintage dessert plates which had my name on them so home they came with me. Love them! All for now! Thanks for visiting!

Your blooming shrubs look like some kind of Hydrangea... maybe a PeeGee? The leaves look more like that one than the regular Hydrangea leaves.
Cute flowery little plates!
Your tomato and zucchini look delicious. Our zucchini is just now flowering here at the lake so it will be awhile before we get the actual veggie. Sorry to hear of your grain intolerance. Two of our grandchildren have Celiacs disease and it is frustrating for them to live with. Especially being only 8 and 12 years old. They are great about it though, and read menus and question waitstaff like adults because they know how much better they feel when they eat correctly. I hope it's the same for you.
Sungolds are almost done? I haven't even had my first one yet! And ditto on the summer squash!
Oh, that's too bad about your allergy - now that such allergies are more widespread, there are a lot of alternatives/recipes out there that take them into account, so hopefully the adjustment won't be too difficult. Lovely plates, btw :)
Hi Granny Marigold, I believe you are right. I am just glad to have a couple flowering bushes!! Nancy
Hi Betsy, Time flies by so fast you will be having zucchini before you know it! I am missing a couple things trying to eat wheat free but there is so much you can buy now that is gluten free. Even the restaurants are becoming aware of this need. I wonder if people ever get over it? Nancy
Hi Margaret, Next year I am planting two sun golds! We really like them! I miss a couple things but finding lots of gluten free things now that I can buy and when I get time make my own. Nancy
So glad you got your first tomato - still waiting here.
Those plates are really pretty. Great deal.
Hi Cheryl, I think we are eating the tomato before it was red enough as it was a little hard. Guess I had better be a little more patient. Hope yours is ready soon too. Nancy
Your tomato looks great. My husband has chased bunny after bunny after bunny out of his garden this year, and just a couple of days ago, a deer was standing out there eating his tomatoes!!!! Poor guy!
Hello Nancy, just popping over for a visit & have some envy of your gorgeous tomatoes & vegies you are growing. I clicked on the pic to enlarge it & I think that might be a virburnum, which I think is a member of the hydrangea family. But I am not 100 % sure. Your new dishes are rather gorgeous. Hope you are having a lovely week Nancy Xxx
Hi Nancy! :)) Those dessert plates are really pretty, that was a good find! And I'm SO JEALOUS of your Roma!!!! My tomato plants all had yellow leaves lately, I'm assuming it's the overload of rain and very little sun this summer - especially the Romas. But I pruned all the icky leaves off and I have hopes for a good harvest despite that! I'm sorry about your allergy, for someone like me, that would be a horrible diagnosis. I love bread products way too much.
In 2011, I was diagnosed with IBS. I thought the diagnosis was a little too quick with zero tests and a 10 minute doctor visit...so I went on a year of being vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free...I was convinced it was something in my diet. In the end I DON'T have IBS...I simply had an intolerance to certain protein molecules in full-fat cow products. I avoid that now. But I do remember trying out some of the gluten-free products...and them being so disappointing. Mind you that was 6 years ago. I hope you find some yummy stuff and can adapt to a new way of eating!
Hi Bee Lady, Oh, I feel so sorry for your husband's bunny problem. We had a problem with them at our previous house but so far not here. It does get discouraging! Nancy
Hi Julie, Thanks! I do love the dishes and the other ones were much too large to share a muffin with my friend when she comes for tea. Now I can put one on these pretty dishes for her. It has turned muggy here for a couple of days. We were watching a Christmas movie tonight and seeing that snow should make us cooler!!! Nancy
Hi Rain, I was a little disappointed in our first tomato as it is rather hard. Maybe I should have let it get riper. Good luck on yours doing better now. I do love breads too!! I have found quite a few things gluten free and some taste good and some not. I have really tried for a few days but still have some itchy spots. Food allergies are tricky it seems. Having chronic lyme disease also does not make things simpler! Glad you got yours figured out. Nancy
Yes, I think the plants out front might be Peegee hydrangea, I used to have some. Very healthy plants. Love the little dessert plates, I found some similar patterned at a thrift store also! Have been enjoying them for several years...had my name on them though..not yours! Lol!
The Oliver mansion very much resembles the architectural style of a very large stone house here in Alpena. I once drew a picture of it with chalk. (In a high school class) and won first prize in a local contest. The owners wanted to buy it, but I declined. Then yrs later while working at a local photography studio I photographed the same house and subsequently was hired by the then current owners to photograph their wedding..which was held inside the house. So your photo brought to mind some nice memories about a favorite similar house here...a few interesting stories went along with my slightly unconventional photos ....which the clients loved! Lol! 😊
Hi Karen, I just love vintage flowered dishes! You would have loved touring that mansion I think!! Fun to tour but wouldn't want to clean or heat it! At this stage in my life I want small and simple! Nancy
