May 3, 2018

These are the small cherry type tomatoes grown from the seeds that Chris sent me.  Still living!  Now if I can get them hardened off without killing them!

More gluten free muffins made from a gluten free mix.  I added blueberries and nuts this time.

It is the time of year when us gardeners can't resist buying new plants!  This is a lily that says it will bloom all summer!

Went through my cupboards and got rid of things that had wheat in them.  All this except 3 Amy's organic gluten free soups were given away.   Still reading labels and learning.

Gluten free biscuits that were not made from a mix.  The texture is somewhat different than your regular biscuits.

I have been wanting a snake plant for quite awhile.  They can grow in shady areas and not much care.  I think they help clean the air in the house too.

Not perfect but I finished a case for Gracie's Ipod.  I didn't have a pattern and it gave me grey hairs so hoping it fits!

Can you see those two things on the left and the green on the right?  Beans and cukes starting to pop through!

Sugar peas, few radishes that don't look good and a bit of spinach.

Green onions doing well.

Parsley I bought and planted.  Have a lovely week and thanks for stopping by!

It sure looks like your plants are off to a good start! Spring must be staying around at your place. It's finally arrived here in Michigan!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Everything is growing and it really seems like the nicer weather has arrived.
If that is a Lily that blooms all summer please post the name ( or take a picture of the "label". I love plants that bloom for a long time.

Yum. Look at all of those beautiful things growing in your garden! You will be eating well in no time. I had a snake plant long ago but I managed to kill it off. I seem to be good at that with plants of the indoor and outdoor varieties. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

Looks like your gardens are off to a good start Nancy! My tomato seeds just popped this morning, but I can't plant them out for at least 3 weeks so that's ok, hopefully they will be big enough by then! Got them in a little late this year, oops....

Hi Granny Marigold, The name of the lily plant is Daylily Hemerocallis hybrid and I got 'Pewter Pink'. It said on the tag Nature's Splendor. I said on the back that it blooms all summer so I am hoping so!! I got it at Menards. Do you have one of those where you live? Nancy

Hi Betsy, I do hope my food grows and produces lots for my little space. I thought Snake Plant was hardy so hope I don't kill it!! Nancy

Hi Rain, Thanks! I do hope I have good luck this year! Nancy

Hi Debbie - Mountain Mama, I do hope I can get my tomatoes and green peppers hardened off properly so that I don't lose them! Good luck gardening this year. Nancy

Your plants started from seed look strong and healthy. That is something I don't have much luck with. Looks like you have a good start on gardening.

Hi Henny Penny, I don't start very many seeds but so far so good on the tomatoes. Hope everything produces well this year. Good luck to you. Nancy

Thanks Nancy for answering my question. We don't have that store here but I will be on the look-out for a Daylily called Pewter Pink. I have several called Happy Returns which bloom yellow. Those also bloom over a long period of time.

Lovely to see signs of green poking through in your garden Nancy. When I visit my friend who is gluten free, I make my normal muffins but replace the flour/baking powder with gluten free self raising flour & they turn out okay but a little heavier in consistency. Have a lovely week Nancy.

Hi Joy from Days Filled With Joy, I am looking forward to my garden growing also! I really hope it does a lot better than last years. Hope you can garden again when you arrive back home. Nancy

Hi Linda, Thanks! I have never saved tomato seeds but if these do well I hope to try drying some this year. I am happy to have you stop by for a visit!! Nancy

Hi Julie, Thanks! It does seem like most things made Gluten Free do turn out with a different consistency but the GF muffin mix seems to be really good. I added blueberries last time. Glad you could visit. You have a lovely week also. Nancy

When I was a kid I remember Mama having a plant like your snake plant, only she called it a Mother-in-Laws Tongue, LOL Was that a nick name for it, or was it Mama's sense of humor?
Wishing you a sweet day.
Connie :)

Hi Say What, For a gluten free mix the muffins are really tasty! Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting! Have a great day! Nancy

Hi Ellen Ross, Thank you for stopping by. I always like new comments. Gluten free baking is no fun but gardening is! Have a good rest of week! Nancy

Hi Connie, I believe the snake plant is also called Mother-in-Laws Tongue. I have heard it called both so don't think it was your Mama's sense of humor! There was no tag on it to say what it was. Have a good rest of week gardening! Nancy

Hi Nancy, it has been a long time. I see you have had to go gluten free too. I did a few years ago to help with inflammation, and come to find out my son has a pretty severe intolerance. Looks like your garden stuff is coming along and you are keeping busy. My peas didn't look good for a while either but now they look good. Not sure they will withstand the heatwave though.

Hi Shawn Ann, It is good to read your comment! I have been doing gluten free for a bit now but it has not helped my energy! Glad to hear your peas perked up and doing well. I like the pea shoots in my salad and also the sugar pea pods. Nancy

What a great start on your garden. And it looks like you get a nice rise on your gluten free baked goods. That makes a difference, I think.

Cozy Thyme Cottage said...

Hi Leigh, I really hope that I get some organic veggies out of my little garden this year! Those biscuits weren't too bad. I will have to try making them again and see if I get the same results! Nancy

Just popping back in to say hello. I do hope that everything is going fine with the two of you and that your new diet is helping you to feel better.
God bless you!
