I received my new seeds for my little courtyard! It will be awhile yet though! I have never tried Amaranth before but it looked pretty and I think the leaves are suppose to taste like spinach.
Sitting in the house looking out at the neighbors roof I thought this roof looked like a quilt! My husband said "only a quilter would think of that".
This is great granddaughter Nora talking on our antique phone! Doesn't she look just like a teenager! Those days will be here before we know it Can't believe she is this big already!
Another one of her enjoying the snow in our courtyard! Hmmm! This is pretty good stuff! When you don't have toys, a bucket and big spoon works!
Our other little great granddaughter Claire came to visit. So precious. These little "greats" bring sunshine to our days. Aren't they just the cutest and sweetest!
My newest adventure is trying to make a gluten free sourdough starter to make gluten free bread! Wish me luck!!! So far, so good!
I made this gluten free raspberry crisp and it was yummy. The raspberries were in my freezer. My friend Ann gifted them to me. Thank you so much Ann. It is delicious.
Our church is doing a one time book study on this book February 13th from 1p.m. till 3p.m. I am usually napping by 3pm. but this kind of fit into my energy slots so thought I would try it. I am enjoying reading the book.
One more dish cloth knitted. This one is red although looks more pink here and it is for me. It will be nice to use around Valentine's Day.
My last picture is my little buddy, Coco. She is warming up the bed for my nap which I will take after posting this! I am glad you could visit and would love if you could leave a comment. Zzzzzzzzzz
OH, the idea of getting seeds ready in preparation for Spring makes me happy!! Must get to doing that.
GGGrandbabies are adorable!! And so is that little Coco sleeping on your bed.
Good luck on the GF bread Nancy!!! I laughed really loud at what your husband said about the roof...oh so true lol! Oh the seeds...I'm envious! :) I don't think I'll have a garden this summer, depending on when/where we end up moving. Coco is adorable...I always say a sleeping dog is a good dog lol! ;)
such sweet girls and Coco too!
I agree with you, the roof does look like a quilt, maybe with flying geese?!
Gluten free sourdough starter - you are so adventurous! Look at all those seeds! I'm thinking that I may go on a "seed-diet" this year and only use seeds that I already have. I have so many already and there are at least a couple dozen packets that I haven't even opened yet.
I think you will enjoy growing the amaranth Nancy ... the flowers on it are pretty & my friend used to dry them. Your great grandaughters are so cute. Yes they sure DO grow up quick. That book looks most interesting.
Hi Granny Marigold, Yes, even if the weather doesn't feel like it, we have to plan ahead for our seeds! Love our great grandbabies and Coco! Nancy
Hi Rain, Thank you for the good luck wish on the bread! It will be wonderful if I could make my gluten free bread. Good luck on finding your forever land and home. I hope it is soon for you. Nancy
Hi Cheryl Kimbley, Thank you! We love the girls and our furbaby! Nancy
Hi Elizabethd, You must be a quilter!! Thanks for visiting! Nancy
Hi Margaret, I have left-over seeds also but have not gone on your diet of seeds yet! LOL Nancy
Hi Julie, Now if I can just keep Coco out of my Amaranth. I will have to try drying it. Love our great granddaughters and Coco! Nancy
Coco is so sweet. I laughed when I read your husbands comment about the roof. So true. Your little great granddaughter‘s are both darling. You are so lucky to have them come and visit. And seeds for spring! Now that something I could get excited about. Just thought of spring sounds wonderful. Blessings always, Betsy
Coco is a sweetheart to have your bed all warmed for you:)
I've had a seed order made out for three weeks and haven't sent it in yet . . . thanks for the reminder.
Beautiful great grand-babies.
God bless you,
Hi Betsy, Thanks! We are so fortunate to have the two great granddaughter living close by. We are in for some really cold weather this week so hard to think about gardening! Nancy
Hi Connie, Yes, our furbabies are sweethearts, aren't that. Yours is so cute too. We are blessed to live near our two sweet grandbabies. It is so cold here this week that it is hard to think about gardening! My phone says it is to be 10 degreees tomorrow. Still we can order seeds and dream! Nancy
All those pretty seed packets! You know, I haven't gotten any seed catalogs in the mail yet. Guess the companies have given up on me since we order on line so much. I do enjoy looking at catalogs. Coco is such a sweetie pie. I love her color and curly hair. Oh, and those grandbabies. That little Nora is so cute talking on the phone.
Hi Henny Penny, Thank you! I don/t order much from catalogs either because I have such a small garden. MIgardener has packets for 19 cents and there are plenty in the packet for me so I have been ordering from them. I am still getting some catalogs though. Nancy
Awww I am not sure who is cuter.. Coco or the little ones :) :) They are all adorable :) Glad to see you are getting ready for some gardening. I bought some seeds today and some herbs to plant... will blog about them soon. How did the sour dough bread go? It is great to try new recipes... so lovely to see your post! xx
Hi Joy from Days Filled With Joy, Thank you. Love my babies! I am still trying to get my gf sourdough starter strong enough to bake bread. We are having frigid weather here and I am afraid my thyme and oregano won't make it. It will be colder than it has been in a long time. I should have potted them up and put in the garage. I hope you get to garden this year. Nancy
I just placed my seed order also!! Someone gave me a package of orange amaranth seeds, which I have never tried....I might this year, though! I wonder if the birds would like the seeds?
Hi Debbie - Mountain Mama, We are just coming out of the deep freeze! Can't believe the variations in the temperature in such a short time. I am doubling my cold frame things made it through this low stuf. Good luck on your amaranth seeds! Nancy
What a lovely post! I am so happy that you have that machine, it sounds like the perfect gift for you and will help you to keep quilting and sewing beautiful projects. Thank you for the love you send our way in the form of prayer, we can use each and every prayer . . . you warm my heart and are a blessing in my life.
God bless you and your lovely family.
