Dreary here today in SW Indiana. Yesterday was brisk and sunny. The day before rainy. A little bit of each! No frost yet and I hope it holds off for awhile! Don't you just hate to pull out flowers that are still blooming!
I just love picking fresh greens from my garden every day for my salad!
Being adventurous and trying recipes from my new cookbook!
I tried the recipe from the Gluten Free Namaste flour site. This is how it came out of the oven. It is moist in the center but tastes good toasted. Next time I will cover with tin foil at the end and bake longer.
I am trying to learn to wrap presents pretty like Annabelle does in the Bluebirds are Nesting blog. This was a small hostess gift.
Getting back to knitting dish cloths again! All for now! Till next time have a safe and fun halloween! Thanks for visiting! Nancy
I'm amazed that you are still able to pick greens from your garden. Although we haven't had a hard frost most everything is slumping down pitifully.
I must visit this Annabelle who wraps so prettily. Maybe I'll learn a trick or two.
Hi Granny Marigold, I do have a cold frame so hoping I can pick some greens until it gets really cold. Yes, I think you will enjoy The Bluebirds are Nesting blog. Check it out. Nancy
I had one pot of flowers still blooming and since we've already had snow several times and it is supposed to be in the low teens tonight and tomorrow night, Dennis put it in the garage for me. I'm hoping I can overwinter it there. At least I'll have tried and it's better than just throwing it out!
I love your beautiful job wrapping. I know whoever receives it will be very happy.
What a difference a little extra can make on a gift wrap, so pretty.
Hi Nancy :) Your gift wrapping is so nice!!! Well done! That is something I need to do as well, thanks for putting that suggestion into my head! :) Isn't it nice to pick your own food? My garden is long done, but I'm very much looking forward to the next one! :)
Nancy your salad looks amazing . . . nothing better than garden fresh. I admire you for your late gardening and growing greens as many months as you do. I need to get inspired to do more than Spring plantings.
The gift you wrapped is almost too pretty to open. It would look pretty just sitting on a shelf or night stand :)
Wishing you a happy feel good day.
Hello Nancy, Boy I would sure like to be able to just cook once and eat all week. I do actually try to always have leftovers. Your gift wrapping turned out lovely. I am not impressed with how many people just throw everything into a gift bag and throw tissue paper on top. I guess it's just me being old-fashioned and I do appreciate all my gifts no matter how they are given. It's just special to receive a gift that shows it's been wrapped with extra care and love. I hope the sun comes back out for you.
We have had a frost and we are to get a freeze by the end of the week here in central Indiana. Weather sure has been up and down.
You bread looks yummy. Cute wrapping!
Hi Betsy, I hope your plant in the garage makes it. I have a few in our garage also and it does get pretty cold in there sometimes. Hoping for the best. Thank you for the compliment on the wrapping. Nancy
Hi Elizabethd, Thank you! Wrapping has never been easy for me to make it look pretty. Nancy
Hi Rain, Thank you. I am hoping to grow some greens through December at least. Love my salads but hate to pay the price for organic lettuces. I am buying organic spinach as planted just a tiny bit. Nancy
Hi Connie, Thank you. I am just learning about growing greens a little longer and how to use my cold frame. My gift wrapping needs some practice! I am doing a bit better. New medicine seems to help a bit. Thank you for asking. Hope things are going good there. Nancy
Hi Gloriade, I love doing freezer meals ahead. Thank you for the compliment on the gift wrapping. I need lots of practice. I would rather wrap a gift than put it in a big also. Nancy
Hi Cheryl, Thank you. I have never been very good at wrapping gifts and i like to give them wrapped instead of a bag. I hope to try the bread again sometime. Nancy
Oh my mercy! What a beautifully wrapped gift! LOVE THIS IDEA! Oh those greens look so tasty and to come out of your own garden makes them taste even better. My husband would say, "If It came out of our dirt...it's good"! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Hi Creations By Cindy, Thank you! Your husband's comment makes me smile! He is right! Nancy
I am always amazed at all that you grow in your small growing area. We have a 12' x 48' fenced garden and I have never had fresh greens to pick and eat. Never had raspberries either, or strawberries. You have convinced me to set out a small row of raspberries inside the garden. I need to order a few plants.
Hi Henny Penny, Thank you! I wish I could give you some of my starters from my everbearing raspberries! Nancy
