Oh-oh! My Oregano flowered and I didn't get any dried! Is it okay to dry after it flowers??
What a mess trying to pick the raspberrys! The bushes looked so small when I trimmed them back in the spring that it is hard to imagine them filling in like this! Love the raspberrys tho! Where can I plant more!
Borage flowers and more borage flowers! I will have to make sure they don't reseed all over the gardens! Need the room for other veggies. The cucumbers beside them look rather sad. I had the sugar peas planted on the other side of them and so they didn't get enough sun and looked pathetic when the sugar peas were pulled out. Maybe one or two will make it and more will need to be replanted. I think my Wonderful Gardener will make me a cover to keep the beetles off the beans for next year, and I will plant bush beans. Then I can use the two trellises one for cucumbers and one for sugar peas and switch back and forth every other year. A gardener is always planning!
This was newly planted with two cucumber hills and one patty pan squash hill and a tiny bit of Prizehead lettuce. It rained last night and today so hopefully they are off to a good start.
This butternut squash is going somewhere! I probably don't have the room to grow butternut but I love it and can't resist!
The pole beans are climbing the trellis. As you can see the beetles lunched on them.
This Hybiscus was planted last fall. Hoping that it will grow more and bloom this year!
I just thought the Cleome growing where it is not suppose to be was just gorgeous after the rain! Couldn't resist taking a picture!!
The carrots are coming but not there yet. I pulled this one today to put in the cole slaw that I made up. Thanks for visiting!

Ah, nice looking raspberries! We have a small patch, but the few berries they produce are usually snatched up by birds before we get to them.
Your raspberry canes will spread next year. They are good to eat.
Your garden is doing well. Have a wonderful evening.

Hi nutmeg, Sorry the birds get your raspberrys. We don't much problem with the birds eating them but Coco likes to eat the ones towards the bottom! Thanks for visiting! Nancy
Hi Cheryl, Thanks for the info. I did know that the raspberrys spread as started out with three plants and now have all these! My problem is figuring out where to transplant the runners! Thanks for visting again! Nancy
Your plants look great! We don't have any raspberries but I sure would like to put some in. Maybe next year. Our cucumbers have been really struggling along this year as well. Not too happy about that since we love our cucumbers.
Things are growing along well in your garden. I bet the cucumbers take on new life now that the peas that were shading them are gone.
My raspberry patch is taking over the world now too. It's close to the entrance of our hen yard and you have to kind of duck to avoid being smacked in the head with the canes as you go to enter the hen yard.... I wish I could move them back about two feet but it is a big established bed.
Hi allisamazing, I was disappointed our cukes did not get off to a better start as we love them too. But I am always learning something and will not do it that way again! Good luck on getting your raspberrys going. You will love them. Thanks for taking the time to visit! Nancy
H kitsapFG, I sure do hope the cukes take on a new life! I can hardly wait for them! Isn't it amazing that you can just start out with a few raspberry plants and if one is patient you end up with lots! Love it! Come again! Nancy
not sure about the oregano but I would probably try it....I forgot to plant any this year but I have a very little bit left from last year.
You can dead head it and clip back and I think it will grow some more...
Hi Kathryn, I googled it and the info said the leaves taste best before flowers. The essential oils in the leaves diminish as the flowers began to develop. I don't see why you couldn't cut it back and then harvest when it grows again like you suggest. Thanks for the input! Come visit again! Nacy
Oh yummy raspberries. Well there is always something to think about doing differently in the garden, either varieties, scheduling or hardscaping!
Carrots seem to take a long time, but once the roots are as wide as the top stems then they seem to grow faster.
Thanks for visiting Mary! I am always moving things around in the gardens it seems! I want to plant more carrots next year too! Come again! Nancy
Hi Nancy! Your garden is lovely! I'm with Kathy on the oregano thought. I did that with my basil last year. It'd already started blooming by the time the season was over, so I dead headed it, pulled it up and set it up to dry. It dried delicious. Probably not at the superior flavor it would've had I not let it go to flower, but still very very good. I think cleome is so pretty. Some call it 'cat's whiskers' here.
Hi Lisa, I was not too disappointed that I did not harvest the oregano as have not gotten into making spaghetti sauce or my own pizza very often. I do want to start soon on the pizzo tho. I had not heard that Cleome was also called Cats Whiskers. Thanks for that interesting info! Come again. Nancy
