Would you go outside to garden???????
I have been picking greens from my cold frame all along. Today I picked a few but they were small and looked so cold and hurt! Maybe even a little frosted. I about froze my fingers off so have decided that I will be buying lettuce and spinach from the store for awhile! I am a wimpy gardener but think I did well to not buy until December from the store!!!
I took Coco for a walk one nice day and a lady was bagging up leaves! Aha!!! I asked her if I could have a couple bags and dragged them home and put them in the garage. Now I have some leaves to add to my compost pile next spring!
Made "Wonderful Gardener" a raspberry pie from the raspberries he had picked last summer!
My two piano students are wonderful! The youngest made me this card and brought to me last week.
On the inside it said, "Dear Mrs, nancy, I hope you have a great cristmas. I enjoy you take en your time to help me. I love you like if you were in my family but you are a part of my family. Yours Truely, Jocelyn. Wasn't that sweet!!! I tried to copy it like she printed it. I am not related so not sure how she thought I was a part of her family but thought the card was precious!
Sue, Melissa and I went to see the Nutcracker on Wednesday night. Then I had my Christmas/Winter band concert last night so it has been a busy week. I want to leave you with a video to watch if you haven't seen it that I thought was so neat! I hope you like it! Enjoy!!!!!
Oh how precious that is!! I love how children write cards. My little boys write cards like that on holidays for me..lol That pie looks delish!!
Hi Karrie, Thanks! Little kids can sure touch your heart with making a card! Thanks for visiting my blog! Nancy
You've got so many wonderful things going on in your life Nancy! Music at Christmas, makes the holidays even more special. And the things we do for our gardens! Those leaves will be perfect compost come spring. Yummy looking pie and I used to teach piano too and my students were the sweetest. Your sweet cards brought back wonderful memories. Have a wonderful week.
Hi Nancy! Wow! That band and those voices! I could listen all day! I love that kind of music! So nice of you to share! The greens look yummy, but I don't think I'd go out in 20 degree weather to harvest them, either! How nice of you to make your hubs a pie! I just love when children think enough of us to draw or write something! So sweet! Thanks for sharing! Blessings from Bama!
That is cold. That was about our high yesterday. You did well to get greens from your garden that long.
How neat to have your piano students write and draw you some cards.
Have a wonderful day and stay warm.
Hi Lisa, I had not taught piano lessons in quite awhile but since we no longer go to AZ for the winter I am really enjoying these two students. There is so much available on the internet now for games to re-enforce music to make it fun! And yes, the things we do for our gardens!! LOL Nancy
Hi Felecia, I loved that music and glad I could share it with you! So wonderful to hear all those voices singing "Joy to the World"! Nancy
Hi Cheryl, Yes, it is cold!! I received my first seed catalog though and after Christmas I can start my arm chair gardening! LOL Nancy
oh, are the children's cards so sweet?! i've not seen the nutcracker, but the flash mob was fabulous--tfs, nancy!
Dear Lynn, I hope you get to see the Nutcracker some day! You would really enjoy it. Glad you enjoyed the flash mob! Nancy
That was so sweet. And NO I wouldn't garden at that temperature. When I first got here I found I do have a spot in the front that stays sunny enough to pick things still in January if I protect it very very well. But I don't like having to brush off the snow to get my food while my fingers freeze off. So I don't do that anymore. I think I'd need a greenhouse to go out in the winter to really garden. That way I'd be in the protected environment.
Hi Daphne, I am glad to hear that you don't like to freeze your fingers either! A greenhouse would be nice but do not see one in my future! Nancy
Goodness, you have been busy, between freezing your fingers off, making a fabulous pie, teaching piano (Cute card), and throwing in a band concert...Whew, I'm exhausted!!
Hi Polka Dot Closet, I am exhausted too! LOL I think it takes more energy to decorate so beautifully like you do than to do what I do! Nancy
Hi there busy lady!
Thanks for coming by and saying hi.
You asked about my yo yo garlands but there's no e mail linked to your name so I am answering here...
My yo yos are medium sized- not sure of the dimensions. Large ones would be better but they would take a lot more fabric! ♥
No, that is too cold to spend any time outside. The pie looks delicious. And you may come and take my leaves anytime you like. :-)
Hi Holly-Cutie Pie Cottage, Thanks for the info on the yo-yo garlands. Now to find the time to do them!! Nancy
Hi GardenOfDaisies, Thanks! I am not sure I want as many as leaves as you probably have! Thanks for the offer anyway! LOL Nancy
I think you did excellent to not buy greens up until now!! I really want a cold frame for next winter. :) Your pie looks delicious. You have one lucky gardener! That is a precious card, indeed!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Hi vicki, Thanks! The cold frame is covered by snow now! Looking forward to spring! How about you? Nancy
