Veggies, Flowers and Disaster

Greens and a couple radishes!

Still more asparagus growing!  I even had a little extra to freeze!

This is my disaster!  Or I should say Coco's disaster!  I had rigged a fence around this one little patch of asparagus but it didn't keep her out as you can see!  She eats the asparagus right to the ground and as far down the nubs as she can!  "Wonderful Gardener's" toe is starting to feel a little better so he will definitely have to put a better fence around it for protection!

This Brunnera was so full of pretty blooms I just could not resist taking another picture of it!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

It was time to bring the hat out with the bird and nest for the front door!  I think warmer weather is here although we had quite a storm last night.

And here are my beautiful Mother's Day plants to cheer up the front steps!  Coco is guarding them!  If this was the real Coco she would more likely be eating the flowers off!

It's always nice to have a little extra for the freezer. I was hoping to have enough mustard greens to freeze but it won't happen this spring, maybe fall. I had no idea dogs would eat veggies from the garden! I do know they will dig in the flower bed!

I'm so lucky that my daughter's dog is good with the garden. I can even let him in the garden fence and not be there and he won't destroy things. My other dogs weren't too bad, but they did love to chase the chipmunks and often that meant right through the middle of a bed.

Hi Nancy! So funny about Coco! Dogs are funny about what they like to eat! My wienie dog likes worms and grubs! I usually feed those to the chickens but I save a couple for him. The flower is so pretty! The front stoop looks really nice! Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day! Blessings from Bama!

Poor asparagus! When my dog was a puppy he dug up and ate all of my onions and onions are bad for dogs!! Crazy dog. Now he doesn't bother the garden except for strawberries, which were at the previous garden. He would stand in the strawberries and munch away. Between him and the squirrels I barely got any for myself! Hopefully Coco is a young dog and will outgrow his garden eating days.

Hi lil red hen, I don't have that much extra spinach but freeze up in little packages what I do have. I don't know if all dogs like veggies but ours sure does! What a pest! Nancy

Hi Daphne, It is probably my fault that Coco is such a stinker. I am too soft hearted when I look into her sweet little face! Nancy

Hi Julie, Coco is 8 or 9 years old so I don't really have much hope that she will become a better behaved dog. I am too softhearted with her too! Nancy

Hi lynn, Thanks! Our son sent that sign to me two or three years ago. I love it too but it has faded a little. Nancy

Love the hat and the birds nest inside it.

Your Coco sounds like my dog, Sasha. This morning I went outside to see she had got to one of my hostas. Luckily I was able to re-pot it.

Hi Weekend-Windup, The hat and birds nest door hanging is old but I really like it anyway! Nancy

Hi Brandi, Thank you for visiting! Coco is worse than Sasha I am afraid. She ate all my hostas to the ground so I had to get rid of them as wasn't certain if eating them would hurt her. I am glad you could rescue yours and repot! Nancy

Hi Lisa, I have to agree that Coco is a rascal but maybe that is too mild of a word to describe her! LOL Nancy
