Winter Weather! Ugh!!

I am eating lettuce grown under my Grow Light Box in the basement!!!

Almost too late to get a picture of this!  Made from raspberries grown in our yard.

This picture pretty well sums of the 19 inches of snow we must have gotten from the storm.  A path for Coco had to be shoveled as she is not "potty trained" yet!  We lost our electricity for about three hours.

Today was a little more encouraging. The snow has melted some. No sunshine but at least I could see the very top of the thermometer on the carrot box!

No garden or flower pictures to post so I have to post pictures of my favorite "little person".........or so she thinks!!!!!

A hard life deciding which chair she should nap in!!!!

Love your garden photo on the header. You dog looks a bit tired. :) That is great you can have lettuce you have grown your self. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Your lettuce looks so fresh - it must be especially delicious because it's the middle of winter!

Hi Susie, Thanks for visiting! Coco should not be tired as in the winter she sleeps so much of the time!! It is fun to grow the lettuce in the house but I can't grow enough to keep me supplied! Nancy

Hi Margaret, It is fun to grow lettuce in the basement when I can't get outdoors but wish I could grow enough to supply all my need! Nancy

Yum pie. But it is the lettuce I wish I had. I keep thinking that I ought to start some greens in mid February just in case it gets warm early. Not much chance of that though. I think with the snow we have it will be a late thaw this year.

Hi Daphne, Go ahead and start your lettuce. Only a few seeds and worth a try! One never knows about the weather anymore! Good luck! Nancy

Hi Jeanette, I will send some snow to you! Coco is a purebred cocker. She will soon have to get get groomed again. When she is first done she looks like a cocker but as her hair grows out she looks like a little wooly bear! Nancy

Wow, you've got some snow! We've had barely a flake this winter. I love your grow light lettuce. I just got my grow light after Christmas, so my little plants are, well, little. I should try some lettuce!

Hi Leigh, Would you like me to send you some of our snow!! LOL It does take me awhile to get the lettuce large enough. Nancy

Hi lynn, Thanks! The gloomy days get to be too! About time for Coco to go to the groomer so that she looks like the cocker she is suppose to be!! Nancy

That is a lot of snow you have! We are supposed to get ours next week. :( This weeks temps were nice and warm until today. Our nights are going to be in the single digits for several nights and teens in the day time. I did get to dig my asparagus bed yesterday. :) I have a red chair just like Coco is sitting in in my bedroom(minus the cushion and ruffles) that I picked up at a thrift store. Your lettuce looks great too!!

Hi Vicki, We got more snow today too!that red chair has been the best chair. I hope you enjoys yours. Hubby gave it for me for Valentines Day 54 years ago and I am still using it after all these years. Just had to get a new cover or two. Made a cover once. Nancy

Wow! Nancy, You certainly got a big snow. It seems like snow is dropping everywhere in the USA except here . . . I'm certainly not complaining, LOL. We have been having spring like weather, almost to the point of being scarey. If the fruit trees start to bloom too early they could freeze and wipe out the crops, and our Washington state economy depends a lot on your fruit crops. I replied to the comment that you send and I am hoping that my replies to comments all get sent to you by way of email, but the truth is I don't know if they do for sure or not. Maybe, you could let me know. I would really appreciate it. It's funny, but you set your blog up the way you want it to work, but if your not a follower, you don't know if it working the way you want or not:)
Here's wishing you a lovely day . . . I wish that I could send you a beautiful sunny day.
Connie :)

Hi Connie, Yes, we could do with a little less snow and a little more heat! LOL This comment you left on my blog came into my e-mail but sometimes peoples comments don't! Don't know why. Your answer to my comments on your blog don't come into my e-mail at all. I think I am a follower of you. Hope you can figure it all out!! Nancy

Progress in the Courtyard!

It was so nice to look out my bedroom window this morning and see the Clematis blooming instead of a pile of snow.  It is a rainy day agai...
